Forwarding messages to Todoist projects : empty task note

S

Hello:
I follow this tutoriel : https://todoist.com/blog/2013/01/zero-inbox-policy-with-todoist/
because I want to forward emails to one of my Todoist projects. If I send directly an email of mine, all works fine : the email body becomes the task note.

But if I *forward* an email, the only thing that appears in the task note it is that I wrote myself (if I added something), but none of the text of the original email. That's my problem. I want that the email body someone sends to me appears in task note.

Thanks.
(Sorry, I'm French, my english is pretty bad.)

Hi Soledad,

Are you using gmail for your emails? Are you using a particular mail client when you're forwarding those emails to Todoist?

I need those information so I can verify the behaviour that you're experiencing. Please let me know.

Regards,

Clyde

I'm using Zimbra :
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Zimbra
It is the webmail of my job.

Because of your questions, I just try with gmail, and all works fine... So the problem is Zimbra. There is a way to fix this?

Hi Soledad,

Can you forward an example email to me at clyde@doist.io so I can give it to our developers for a look?

Nothing new? I really want to use Todoist for my job and it is essential for me to create task with mail. Well, a plugin for Zimbra (like for Thunderbird or gmail) would be even better, but I think it's not in your projects...
Thanks.

We've made changes to the way incoming emails are handled and this issue should now be solved. However, if you'll still experience it or fragments of an email won't arrive as a task note, please let us know.

Hello,
Unfortunately, nothing changes. The text of the forwarded email doesn't appear in the task note.
The last thing in the note is "----- Mail transféré -----" ("forwarded email" in french).

I have only a file with signature image of one sender (I don't remember if this is a change or not).

Hello,

this problem still exists. When I forward eMails with Thunderbird, then the eMail body will not appear in the task note section.

Maybe it's an issue with the seperator? In German it says

-------- Original-Nachricht --------

Might that cause a problem?

Best,
Ugur
