Email Task and Assign a user

KH

Hi,

We are just starting out using todoist so far looks very good.

However one feature we are missing is the ability to add a task via email and get notified that the task has been created.

This may already be a feature I just haven't found it yet.

It would be great to be able to use the options you have for assigning labels to task e.g. @shopping to also have the ability to assign it to a user

or the ability to get notified when ever a task is added to a project

Lastly it would be great to have the ability to notify users about comments, I know you can do this by notifying a user within todoist which works great but it would be even better to be able to add any email address we like to the notifications then they would have the ability to respond to the task via email as well.

If you need any more information please let me know.

cheers

Hi Kyle,

You can indeed create tasks from emails. https://todoist.com/blog/2013/01/zero-inbox-policy-with-todoist/

Hi Brendon,

I did see this article but its not quite what I’m after.

What I would like to do is add our team (5 people) into a project, then when I send an email to the projects email address everyone should get a notification saying that a task has been added to project.

This is the main feature we are wanting, the others mentioned I think I can find work arounds for.

Thanks for your quick response.

Jean,

There is no way to do this this by email. Nothing new from what is already available. If you add at ask, and you have notifications turned on, a new task from email should act the same.

Right now when I add a task by email we do not receive a notification like you just told me, maybe it's a setting I didn't enabled?

Jean,

No sorry about that. I was thinking of when adding a task normally. Since you can not yet assign a task in the email, there is no notification for just newly added tasks. Yes, this is something we will look into.

Brendon

Okay, did you have any "timeframe" for that? It is something you want to add quickly or or really deep from your todo list? :)

Hi Jean,

We don't have any timeframe for it yet. You can follow our our blog or Twitter account for news and updates as we post them there if we have any new features or updates. :-)
