time filter doesn't refresh

TK

If you don't turn off the PC & Outlook, time filter of viewed tasks doesn't update after midnight neither any following hour / day. I'm just letting my notebook to sleep during the night with Outlook running, so every morning I'm shown tasks as they were during yesterday. And every day I have to change it and don't forget about it. Android version works fine. :-S

How to simulate: let Outlook running, todoist plugin with selected "overdue, today", change date to the next. Tasks and overdue doesn't update.

Hi Tomáš,

Please confirm, you are manually changing the date to the next day? If it's not actually changing to the next day, then it's reasonable that Todoist is getting confused about the "date change" that you are manually doing.

And if you hit the refresh button within Todoist, it does not update?

Brendon.

Hi Brendon,
actually it happened to me multiple times without manually changing the day. In the evening I let my notebook sleep and woke it up with all apps running next day. Todoist didn't update its view and I saw my tasks as it was the day before.

Refresh button will probably work, same as selecting the time range (today) again. But still I think it shouldn't behave this way. It should automatically update if the day isn't changed manually, but "naturally".

Tomáš,

We've already added an option to send a push update to our apps on midnight, but if at this time the computer is at sleep, it won't work either. Any change on any platform should force a sync, though.

Please tell me - how long do you wait after you wake up your computer and check your list? We do send periodical push-updates, did you wait more than 1 minute?

Best regards,
David

Hello David,
let me try to retest it again then. I'll let the computer sleep with Outlook and Todois on Today's page and wake it up the next day as I usually do. As you suggest I'll wait and see if it changes automatically (in a few minutes), also I'll try to observe if an update from Android device will force the Outlook plugin to refresh its daily view. And also if solving a task will force the daily view to refresh itself. So I'll get back to you in a few days.

I hope I explained myself clearly before - I am "reporting" a problem that Outlooks Todoist doesn't refresh its daily view and shows tasks as it was yesterday (as you can see on the image in the first post). Not that the tasks don't get pushed from other devices to Outlook Todoist.

So today I've waited over midnight. It didn't change (update) the view again. See pic: http://i57.tinypic.com/2cwrbpy.png . Computer was on whole the time during midnight and 40 minutes after it.

After adding a task from Android at 0041 it did update in about a minute.

But still I think the behavior is a bug for Outlook plugin. It should update the view automatically. I'm usually working just on PC and not checking / updating task on Android. But I guess you know it. :)

At what time zone midnight you force update? Wouldn't it be better to automatically update every few hours?

Tomáš,

I believe it would update at UTC 0 currently.

And to be clear, does this issue occur on the web version, or any other desktop option?

Regards,
Brendon.

Hello,
this issue doesn't occur on Android / web. I'm not using any other option. Still it would be nice if you found a way to update the Outlook view every few hours / minutes without the need to get PUSH updates. In my opinion there is no need to download new task from server; just update the view displaying "todays" tasks so it does show todays tasks and not yesterdays. :)

Hello,
I just wonder is this about to be fixed or is it a "feature".

Tomas,

It should update as it does on other platforms. We are looking into some issues with the Outlook plugin and hope to release an update soon. That being said, we have yet been able to reproduce the issue.

Brendon.
