Dealing with different dates

JL

Is there any way to have another field to put the deadlines for my tasks ? For example, sometimes i put "due to today" for some tasks in order to appear in my today list or next 7 days list, and get it done before the deadline. The limit date for this task to be done is not necessarily the day I'm getting it done. So i would like to find another field to store this limit in order to keep track of my tasks.

Hello Jorge,

You could to that with labels - add @20Apr or @20/4 or any other text after an @ sign within the task's name to add a label with this name. Then you can search for other tasks with this label.

Alternatively, you can use a @someday or @April label to tag tasks that will require attention in the future, but not on a specific date.

Best regards,
David

Thanks for your reply David. But I already use the labels to keep track of the tasks related to some personal goals. For example, the task "go to the gym" would have the label "getFitInFiveMonths", so that I can be sure that i am doing the tasks that are important for my goals. So I'm afraid of mixing all these labels if I also use them to control deadlines.

Maybe you guys should have some kind of custom field in order to store some extra information, which varies from user to user.

Jorge,

Please note that you can color-code labels to differentiate them. We may consider adding a custom field in the future and you're welcome to vote for this request in our Votebox: https://todoist.com/Vote/show/7500/
