duplicated tasks in Today an next day views

Sub-tasks appear duplicated as sub-task (idented) and task (un-idented) in Today and Next days views.

Occurs on all platforms as far as I could see.

completing one of the items on this view will eventually complete the other and both will be removed after action is synched with server.

I have some screenshots to show the problem, if necessary.

Hello Nuno,

This is the intended behavior. We prefer not to show you tasks that are not due today on the today list just because they're a parent task of a sub-tasks that is due today. That's why we display only tasks that meet the search criteria on these lists.

That said, you won't miss any task due today even if it's a sub-task and still have an option to check what sub-task does a parent task due today has for reference.

Best regards,
David

I get the point for not showing the parent task if it is not due today.
It does feel strange however to see the same task in two ways on the list.

It's sometimes confusing to see a sub-task displayed like a parent task.
Have a look at this screenshot to show what I mean. The highlighted tasks are actually the same, but they are shown with two different visual styles.

Nuno,

That's correct. The thing is, every other alternative option would be much more confusing:

- Using indent levels would show you a completely different sub-task structure if you could see a completely unrelated parent task from another project and then an intended sub-task from yet another project while they don't really have anything in common.

- Not showing you the sub-task below their real parent task could cause you to complete a task without realizing it has sub-tasks that should have been completed firs.

- Showing you parent tasks that are not due today just to display their matching sub-tasks would clutter you today list with tasks that aren't really today.

Of course you're welcome to let us know how would you prefer tasks to be shown in this view and we'll consider changing it in the future :-)

Best regards,
David

I see your point. It's not an easy thing to solve. :)

Personally, I would prefer that if the parent task is shown on the same view, then show the sub-tasks under it.
Otherwise show them as un-idented.

Thank you for all the info. I understand your decision now and hope you take my suggestion into consideration for a future update.
