Outlook integration not working

TE

i purchased Todoist (premium) so that i could easily add emails as tasks. i have loaded the newest version of the plug-in - - and it shows up on my ribbon.
"Add Todoist" also shows up when i right click on an email - but when i hit it, it does nothing. just explodes the todoist bar, but doesn't add a task anywhere. The Todoist block stays continually empty. (on a separate point, i had assumed the Todoist window would show all the items i have on my web todoist...but i get nothing.

Hello Tom,

You should indeed see all your tasks in the Outlook plugin.

So, to clarify - after you open Outlook, can you click on the << arrow icon at the top of the Todoist Outlook plugin to manually expand it and when you do, then it's already blank inside? Or do you see the login page?

Also, does reinstalling it help? If not, please send logs from this location: %userprofile%\AppData\Local\Todoist\Outlook\ to david@doist.io and brendon@doist.io including a link to this thread for reference.

Best regards,
David

thanks David - yes, your note is correct - i see it - it expands - but the login page never comes up (that would explain the lack of todo's!). i'll send the log to you and brendon

Tom,

brendon@doist.io is the correct one. Not sure why it would not work. Nonetheless, if David got the logs then we are all good.

Regards,
Brendon.

Me too, fresh install on Windows 8.1 this morning, nothing visible so I closed Outlook and restarted it, but just the same as above - a blank pane and no login prompt. So I installed the Windows version which did prompt for login and that works, but Outlook version still doesn't. Could this be McAfee preventing the login prompt? Just a thought. I haven't bought premium yet but plan to once it is all working.

Hello Rob,

Could you please try to completely disable McAfee and/or its Outlook plugins (if any) and see if it helps?

Best regards,
David

Thanks David. Stopping and starting McAfee fixed it. It came up and asked if I wanted to allow ToDoist access to the internet and I clicked always, so should have no more problems!

Hello,

Had the same problem. I thought that maybe McAfee was causing it, as you all said, but still got the blank page.

Uninstalled todoist, switch off computer, reinstalled it without having outlook working (First time, outlook was working, I'm pretty sure) and when I launched Outlook everything was fine!

I logged in, and no problems so far. Hope this helps :-)

I was having this issue a few weeks ago and then it was fixed by uploaded the lastest outlook version of todoist, but now it is not working again. Any suggestions?

Hello Jennifer,

Please clarify what you mean by "not working again". Do you see the plugin pane, but it's blank, do you see it, but it contains a black background, do you not see it in Outlook, but in the Add-ins settings, do you not see it there either, but it's on the Programs & Features list, does it have any functional issue?

Any details you could provide would be very helpful, but in general, please try to uninstall it, close Outlook, install the latest version from https://todoist.com/outlook again and see if it helps.

Best regards,
David

The other day when I would click on an email link it wouldn't pull up the email however, today it seems to be working...I think that part seems to not be too consistent. 2 weeks ago I installed the latest version of the outlook todoist, is there a more recent version?

Jennifer,

It should auto update. The latest version is on Todoist.com/outlook. It sounds like it would be the latest version. Not to sure why it would work, then not work.

There are a few issues we are working on.

Regards,
Brendon.

I am having the exact same issue. Using Outlook 2013. Todoist window will expand, but it is blank. Have reinstalled twice, restarted several times and turned off virus protection (Symantec) a couple of times. No joy.

Are there any other updates or steps to take to resolve this issue?

Thanks

Mark,

Sadly we do not have any solution at this time. We are working very hard to resolve this issue and similar issues for our plugin. We hope it won't be much longer.

Brendon.

doing my monthly check - hoping to not have to cxl premium but outlook/email integration was my primary reason for moving to todoist as i use Manage-Your-Now approach. any outlook (pardon the pun) on a resolution? (i.e. is the function defect identified and a roadmap in place?). thanks

Tom,

Sadly we have no updates. Outlook has been our most problematic platform not to mention the issues we have had with developers we have hired. We are sorry for all the trouble and time it takes, we don't know when this will be fixed, but we are working on it.

Regards,
Brendon.

Restarting the add on worked for me.

Click on file
Then options
click on add-ins
at the bottom click on go next to com add-ins
uncheck the box next to outlooktodoistADX
click ok and restart outlook.
reverse these steps and the add in works.

Jeremy,

I tried that and disabled all other plugins in case there was a problem. When I click an email task link nothing happens.

Brendon,

Any updates on this issue now? I would like to use this for my team.

If there is no ETA then I don't think those with outlook can consider this as an option for collaboration. I'm bummed, I would really like to use this for my team.
