Connecting Premium Upgrade to New Account

MH

I would like to "reset" my karma by deleting my account and creating a new one. Firstly, is this possible with the same email address? Secondly, how would I connect the upgrade to Premium that I paid for to the new account?

Hello Miranda,

That is possible. You couldn't connect the new account to your Premium time, but we could do it for you. Once you delete and recreate your account, please post here and we'll upgrade your new account to Premium until February 2015 as the old one was before.

Note - deleting an account will permanently delete all your tasks and projects on it with no way of retrieving them so you'll have a completely blank account.

Best regards,
David

Thank you, David. This is my new account. Will you please proceed with the upgrade?

Miranda,

It has now been upgraded, please sign out and back in again to see changes.

Thank you, Brendon. Maybe I'm crazy, but wasn't upgrading to Premium only supposed to give me 500 points? I received the 500 points, then I received 250 more points in 50 point increments. I feel like this takes me back to where I started at the beginning of this post when I wanted to re-create my account to correct my Karma...

Hello Miranda,

Please tell us, what do you see when you hover over these points (the icons in "Karma help")? What is the reason for these points? Posting in the support section? Adding a lot of tasks? Using advanced features? All of these will increase your Karma.

You can consider the current Karma state as your starting point and move on from there :-)

Best regards,
David

Hello, David. They say "For using Todoist Premium - thanks for supporting us!" I am only asking because they showed up when Brendon applied the Premium to my account...not when I posted in the support section or added a lot of tasks. If these points ARE for those things, shouldn't they say something to that effect, instead of "For using Todoist Premium..."?

Miranda,

Yes, they should say something else. I've passed it to the developers and we'll look into it.

David

I bought the premium service, but I just noticed I have a typo in my email address:
It reads "lakemat1@gmial.com" ... but it should be lakemat1@gmail.com (obviously).
So how can I fix this? Otherwise my lists won't link with my calendar...

Doug,

At Todoist.com, top right corner (gear icon) Settings. From Account you can change your email that is associated with your account.

Regards,
Brendon.

Hello. Has there been any movement regarding this? I still see the extra points added to my Karma along with more extra points (+81) for (1) adding tasks, (2) completing tasks (I haven't completed any yet), (3) using advanced features (as far as I know, I haven't used any yet) and (4) using Todoist Support/Vote sections.

As far as I see, the multiple +50's need to be removed if they were a mistake or renamed for what they were given to me for, and the +81 needs to be modified since I haven't completed any tasks or used any advanced features yet...

Any help would be greatly appreciated. I know I'm being picky, I just wanted a fresh start with my Karma and now it seems to be messed up again. :-(

Miranda,

If you pay for Premium, our system automatically upgrades your account at once with +12 months of Premium and gives you +500 Karma points for it.

If we assign Premium to your account manually, we can't do 12 months at once because you've had 11 months left so we've added it incrementally +6 months and then 5 x +1 month. We suspect that our system registered each +1 month as 1/10th of these +500 points.

We're looking into it and we'll notify you if we find a way around it, but again - you could consider these as starting points and refer to the entire +750 points as the default and move on from there. After all, it's just a fun way to keep track of your productivity ;-)

Best regards,
David

Thank you, David. Except that the +750 was just the beginning. Now my Karma is up to +1331 and I haven't done anything - I received the full +500 for going Premium (even though you said you couldn't award that to me since I only have 11 months left). Then, I received +750 in 50 point increments. THEN, I received another +81 that I already described is wrong as well.

I recognize this is OCD, but I really would like to start with a clean slate. Please let me know if you find a way to fix this or if there is anything I can do.

Miranda,

Previously you've said: "then I received 250 more points in 50 point increments" so please clarify - did you get +500 points and then +250 points in 50 point increments or did you get +500 points and then +750 additional points in 50 points increments (that is - 15 x 50 points)?

As for the +81 points - you have really not completed any tasks at all not even a recurring task? I will pass it to the developers as this sounds like a separate issue.

Unfortunately, we can't do anything about it directly. Our administrator will need to access the database and manually change the Karma score on your account, I can't give you a timeframe when exactly that will happen, though.

Best regards,
David

Hello, David. At first, it was just +500 and then +250 in 50 point increments (that was yesterday). But then, this morning I saw that I had received +500, then +750 in 50 point increments (so an additional +500 in 50 point increments was added overnight).

I really haven't completed any tasks. I've added tasks, but haven't completed any. The +81 doesn't even say its specifically for completing tasks, but for four different things, which I mentioned previously. It honestly looks like someone added them after you and I discussed what the +250 in 50 point increments could be for - you said "What is the reason for these points? Posting in the support section? Adding a lot of tasks? Using advanced features?" And then not very long after, I received +81 and the reasons stated were eerily similar to what you said the +250 in 50 point increments could be for.

I'd appreciate a manual change. Please keep me updated on the progress. And thank you for your help.
