Duplicate tasks

For some time now I have been having duplicate tasks show up on my iPhone 4S and 4th generation iPad. This happens as soon as the task is created. When I "complete" one of the duplicate tasks in order to get rid of it, the other also disappears, and so I have to recreate the task again (with no guarantee that the duplication won't appear again). If I add a note after creating the task, the note only appears in one, not both, tasks, but regardless of which task I delete (i.e. check off as "complete" in order to remove the redundant task), both versions of the task disappear.

Hi Cliff,

So this only shows on the iOS device? What version of iOS are you running? Have you logged out of the app and back in again recently?

Hi Brendon,

I always keep the operating systems up-to-date, and am presently using iOS 7.1 on both devices. I tried deleting the app on my phone and downloading it again, but the same duplication persisted. I then deleted the app on both devices and downloaded them again. So far, so good...I'm hoping that this might have solved the problem.

I'm also having this problem, also on latest iOS and latest Todoist version. Deleting the app and reinstalling fixes the problem temporarily, but it will reoccur for some other task a few days later.

Great video Daniel! I am having the *exact* same problem...been happening for a while too. IOS 7.latest, iphone 5, etc, etc. Not happening on web or desktop though.

Hi Brendon,

unfortunately this problem still persists with the latest Todoist version:

8.2 (12079) running on iOS 7.1.1 (iPhone 5s).

One of my tasks is showing twice within the app, while on the website there's only one entry. Syncing doesn't get rid of the redundant entry.

Hi Tobias,

Please consider re-installing the app again and see if that helps. I personally use the iOS app on a daily basis and have not encountered duplicate tasks. If you can reliably replicate the issue, please let us know so we can report it to our developers.

Maybe it's not necessarily related to the client app but to the way the server and client are negotiating. This'd make reproducing the issue a bit hard, though. (doh)

I certainly did a clean install as well (actually I reset the whole phone and manually installed Todoist), but the issue persisted in the latest iteration of the app.

Duplicate tasks on some items for me. I have to check complete on both to have both disappear. iPhone 4s version 6.0.4 (11301), and on OSX 4.1.5 (latest).

Same issue. This is a deal-breaker for me. It makes the app nearly unusable. Here comes bad feedback in the App Store!

By the way, deleting and reinstalling does nothing. I've tried it a few times. This is clearly a problem on Todoist's end.
