Todoist iPhone app not syncing correctly with what I'm doing on PC/iPad

K

In past week, my todoist app on my iPhone is not syncing with my PC correctly. So some tasks that I have checked as completed on my PC or iPad are still showing up as 4 days ago, 2 days ago, yesterday, etc. on my iPhone. Also, I notice sometimes when I look at my tasks on my iPhone or iPad, the exact same task will sometimes show up twice, even though the duplicate entry doesn't happen on my PC. Please let me know how to resolve these issues. Haven't received any notice of updates for todoist from App Store recently, so am assuming I have the current version of todoist.

Hi Kara,

- What version of iOS are you running?

As for the syncing, we are experiencing some sync related issues, and this could be related. Though before deciding that, please try logging out of the iOS app, and then back in again. Let me know if it still continues.

Regards,
Brendon.

This problem is back again. Logging out of the app worked the last time, but I don't want to have to keep logging in and out on my devices to correct the problem. I have iOS version 7.1 and my software is up-to-date. I am getting the duplicate entries again on my iPhone AND it is incorrectly showing some to-do items as open from 5 days ago, yesterday, etc. even though my iPad and my PC correctly show the entries as completed. Please let me know how to fix this problem. Thanks!

Hello Kara,

Unfortunately, for now logging out and back in is the only "solution" until we'll release an update to our iOS app. It should be available relatively soon (though, of course it can take an extra week for Apple to approve it).

Sorry for the inconvenience.

Best regards,
David

Dear support,

I just wanted to let you know that i am also experiencing syncing issues
with Todoist. The Iphone app doesn't seem to synced. This is a recurring
problem.

Like the other user, I also have all software up to date. On March 19 you
mentioned an update, which by now I'm sure I am running. Sadly, the problem
still persist.

Could you solve this issue, as being synced across devices is one of the
core reasons to use your app.

Hello Micha,

Can you please confirm if completely deleting and reinstalling the iOS app on all your iOS devices makes any difference? Does the issue still persist after that?

Best regards,
David

Hi David,

It was away for a bit and then last week I noticed it came back...

Micha,

We are now looking into more syncing issues. To clarify, this is with iOS only, or do you see sync issues on more platforms?

Regards,
Brendon.

I'll just tune in here and add that I also experience sync problems between 2 Windows PCs and 1 iPhone 5C, and I've also had the problem of some tasks appearing twice in the iOS app.

I'm up to date with both iOS and with your app.

The sync problems I've experienced was that tasks I had postponed on one PC was not postponed on another PC. I've also had a task where I removed the deadline on one PC, but when opening the task on another PC, the task still had the deadline.

As mentioned, I've also had a task appear two times in the iOS app.

This is really frustrating, and I know you're working on fixing this. I really hope you'll give this top priority, because I need to be able to trust this app as I juggle both my professionel and personal lives with it.

If you need any more information from me, let me know.

Best regards
René

I forgot to mention that both Windows PC's is set to the same time zone, in case that matters. (I saw some mention of that setting)

The problem is still there right now. I have my stationary PC logged in to Todoist and have a task that had a deadline yesterday, so it is listed as over due.

On my laptop, I'm also logged in, and the exact same task is listed without a deadline.

I then logged out on my stationary PC, and back in, and then it was correctly synced and task was updated.

We are having server issues, which are being resolved right now, but it may take some time. Very sorry for the trouble. We hope it wont be much longer before everything is back to 100%

These are un-related to then original topic.

Brendon.

dear support

i am trying to post this on your page, but i keep getting an error, so i am
trying an email instead:

i would lik to postpone a current occurence of a monthly recurring task to
tomorrow or the day after. however, this is not possible. i can only choose
from today, next sunday (sunday is the date of the recurrence), next week
or a custom date. the custom date deletes the recurrence.

is there a way to postpone a recurring task to a particular day while
maintaining the recurrence? if not, could you please make this possible?

thank you.

Micha,

Have you tried choosing a specific date through the "more" option? As this does not break the occurrence of the task.

Let me know if that is the case and we can look into it.

Regards,
Brendon.

Hi Brendon,

Somehow changing the date via more for one occurence does seem to have
changed the recurring items. even though it says every 1st sunday of the
month they are coming up as due on thursday again?

Micha,

Can you tell me if this only happens when using the mobile app (confirm which OS) or does it happen if you do the same thing on the website version?

Regards,
Brendon.

I have a MacBook Pro, a iPad Mini, and an iPhone. All the devices are up to date and relatively new. I have logged in and out of all three devices. However, my MacBook Pro does NOT have the same ToDo information as the other two devices.

It seems as though anything I enter in on the MacBook Pro stays in the MacBook. The other two devices seem to sync to each other just fine.

Sadly I entered MOST of my To Do's in the MacBook!

How to I get ALL three devises to have the same list? I have recently purchased the premium account, thinking this might solve the issue...

Suzanne,

You say you signed out of all three places, are you 100% sure that the Macbook is signed back into the same account as the other two?

Regards,
Brendon.
