Synchronize problem between Android and Website

P

I created a task on my phone about 3 hours ago in elevator, where I don't have an internet access. Now, some hours later, I checked my Todoist inbox, and I dont see the task on the web, but it is still on my phone app. I have restarted the android app, and log out/log in on webpage, but it doesn't help.

Hello Paweł,

If you're sure that you're logging into the same account on both platforms and have tried to use the "Refresh" option in the Android app (from the menu in the top-right corner) and it still doesn't work, please try to go to the web and search for the name of the task to make sure it's not there either (or if it's not in a different project).

If it's not, please add a new task to the inbox on the web and see if it sync to Android. Then try to add a task on Android and see if it syncs to the web (be online on Android as you try this) and let us know if either of this works or if it brings back the original task.

Best regards,
David

Paweł,

Thank you for this information. One more thing - what version of Android and what version of our app are you using?

Hello,

We have one more question - when you have tasks that can't be synced from the Android app, please try to force stop the app (don't uninstall it, just force-stop), then open it again and then use the "Refresh" option.

Does this cause these tasks to be synced?

Best regards,
David

I still have mentioned tasks on android.app, but nowhere else.

I'm also have the problem with Android app but in other direction. I have some tasks that I create on web app but I don't see these tasks on Android app. Tried to click Refresh, rebooting phone - it doesn't help. All new tasks syncronize pretty good but these (about 15) tasks don't want to syncronize.
UPD: After editing one of these problem tasks on web (changing priority) now I see this task on Android app. But it's just info for you, not a solution for this major problem.

I'm also having a problem from web to phone--the tasks I create on the phone show up on the web but not vice versa. No amount of refreshing helps.

looking forward to the update, hopefully it would fix it.

I also have problems with synchronization. I determined precedence rule. Yesterday I added tasks and didn't synchonized. Today I synchronize and don't see tasked I added yesterday.
I use Sony Xperia Sp, Andriod 4.3, ToDoist 3.1.3

When will the update be available?

At the moment the Android app in unusable as it does not show the task entered in the web app and vice versa. :-(

Update to my report from Mar 14,

I logged out from ToDoist on my Android, then logged in again, and hit "Refresh". Now all my previously added tasks on the Android are gone (and not snyc'ed to the web).

We'll need that update soon - I don't want to loose my work on the Android again.

I occasionally see duplicate tasks(only in the Android app) when I add tasks from the Android app.
The only way to fix the sync problem is by logging out and logging back in!

Update didn't solve the problem. I changed deadline to "repeat every second day" on web. But on Android the task still repeats every day.
I force-stopped application, force-updated tasks, but still have problems with synchronization.

I use Sony Xperia Sp, Android 4.3, ToDoist 3.2.1

Hello,

Please clarify - what's the exact due date you're typed into the date field? Was it really "repeat every second day"? If so - that's not the correct syntax, please use "every 2 days" instead and let me know if the issue persists.

David

Yesterday I typed "каждые 2 дней начиная с 20 мар". I saw due date that I expect on web. But in app even yesterday I saw "каждый день".

Hi,

Are you saying the web version works, but on Android it does not?

As you describe, "every 2 days, starting on March 20" it should be "every 2 days starting march 20". Do not use "on".

Regards,
Brendon.

Still syncing problems here too: tasks I entered via web don't show up in android app. I'm using the newest version app, so that can't be it.

It seems to me that support doesn't read what I write. May be you don't understand. Let me try to explain.

I have a task with date "каждые 2 дней начиная с 20 мар" and it behaves like I expect on web. But on Android app this tasks repeats every day! I decided to finish it today because I don't want to see this tasks every day any more. I finished it and saw that this tasks would repeat tomorrow. Today is March, 20 and I don't understand why this task should repeat tomorrow.

I hope that you will check code one more time and fix synch bug.

Hello Nastya,

We can't reproduce this issue. I've used the Russian web-version and our Android app on a phone set to Russian, added a task due "каждые 2 дней начиная с 20 мар" on the web and whether I complete it on the web or on Android, it always works correctly and moves 2 days ahead upon each completion so I can't confirm this is a bug. I've tested it on version 3.2.1.

That said, please tell me - can you reproduce this if you add a new task with the same date now?

@Ellen,

Please tell me, does force-stopping and relaunching the app help? If not, does logging out and back in help?

Best regards,
David

No, I can't reproduce it with new task. May be it was something wrong with my old task. I'm sorry!
