SMS Reminder Date Time

BH

I have been receiving SMS notifications 30 minutes before and 1 hour before but the message doesn't tell me which notification I'm receiving. I have lots of tasks and to know 30 minutes before deadline would be great or 1 hour before deadline. Is there a way to receive this information?

What I would like to see is:
Project | Task Name | due in 30 minutes
Project | Task Name | due in 1 hour

Hi Bryan,

There is no way to change what shows on the SMS reminders, but I see your using an Android device. With our App, and using Push notifications, you get the Task Name, which project it comes from and says exactly (Your task is due in 30 minutes), you can also press Done, Scehdule or Snooze.

This is only on the Android Push notifications though.

Brendon.

Glad you provided the answer. Push notifications are not working to my android device. SMS works fine but unable to get the push notifications to display even from the test menu. Any suggestions? I have uninstalled the app on my phone and re-installed but still doesn't seem to be working.

Thanks Brendon,

I really like Todoist and think it is the best thing out there to stay organized.

Byran,

Uninstall the app on your phone, head to Todoist.com, in the top right corner (gear icon) choose Settings. Then under Reminders, remove all Devices listed under "Manage Your Devices".

Then re-install the app. Also in the same menu, make sure PUSH is selected as the Default Reminder option.

Regards,
Brendon.

I uninstalled the app on phone, changes settings and removed device listed under "Manage Your Devices" Reinstalled the app and selected PUSH as default.

I receive push messages on occasion but not every time. The test messages seem to always work but when I schedule under a task they never arrive... It definately isn't working properly. Any suggestions?

Hi Bryan,

What is the syntax used to create the reminder? What did you type exactly into the date box, or in the Reminder area?

Though, if you are getting SMS each time, then that shouldn't be the issue. Are you online at all times? As if you are offline, and the Android app has not synced the latest changes (a reminder) then it will not go off.

Regards
Brendon.

today @ 10:00pm was typed as the original due date.

Then scheduled a notifier with mar 4 @ 09:27pm and didn't arrive.
Sometimes they arrive and sometimes they dont...it is unreliable.

Also when i turn my phone off for 30 minutes and a push notification was suppose to send during the time my phone is off it doesn't show up when I power up my phone. Is this how it is suppose to work with push notification? When my phone is off and a SMS text is sent to my phone when it is powered off they show up immediately upon power on.

Thoughts?

Bryan,

The Push notification should go off once the device is back on, but if your device is not updated with the latest information, it won't know to do a reminder. So to be clear, is your device online at all times?

Brendon.
