Hello,Is there a way to add a task using an url with parameters? Thanks in advance
Hello Olivier,It could be possible if you'd use our API. Please refer to this page for detailed information about it: https://todoist.com/API/Best regards,David
Hello,Thank you for your responseAre you sure that i can use the API with a tool like http://www.clicktoapp.com/ ?In my browser, it will open a simple URL that will add a taskBets regards?
Olivier,I'm not sure, but if you process an API call that adds a task, format it correctly, use the correct parameters, include your unique API token (from your account settings), then it should be possible.I don't know if the software you've mentioned would work like this, though, as it requires some programming/development to create the correctly formatted call. There is no simple way to access one specific URL which will accept a task from anything you paste to it.To clarify - you want to use an URL to add tasks through it or do you actually want to add tasks from an URL? Because in the second case - you can do it easily using one of our browser plugins which has a "Add website as task" option.Best regards,David
Hi David,Sorry if i'm not clearWhat i want to do whit clicktoapp is to select and copy in ANY app (not just browser) and then i can configure the application to call an url with a parameter corresponding to the copied text.So my demand is to have a simple url that i can call with this parameter to add a task.Is it possible? If not, can it be an evolution? Thanks in advance
Olivier,If the app can do that then yes.The simplest version of such URL would be:https://todoist.com/API/addItem?content=XXX&token=YYYWhere XXX would be the name of the task and YYY the required token which you always must include when using our API, you can get it in Settings -> Account. Now, based on the documentation I've linked to: https://todoist.com/API/#items you can check what are the other additional, but optional parameters. The URL above would add this task with no properties to your "Inbox" project. If you wish to add it to a specific project, you can include:&project_id=123456for example, where "123456" would be the ID of the project which you can see in the URL when you go to this project in Todoist. Please check the "API/addItem" section in the documentation for more information.Best regards,David
Great! That's just what i neededThanks a lot :-)
