Adding sent items as "Waiting for"

SM

Is there a way of adding a sent mail to Todoist as "waiting for" automatically? Currently I am sending the email then searching for it in my sent folder and clicking the todoist button to create a task in the gmail plugin. I would like the ability to mark it as a todoist task prior to sending it so it appears in the plug in for me to edit etc.

Hello Sean,

Are you referring to the "Add email as task" or "Email tasks to this project" feature?

In the first case - it's not possible to auto-populate the task with a label upon addition, but you can always type @waiting to the task's name to add a label to it.

In the second case - that's possible, if you add @waiting to the subject or body of the mail, the task created from it will arrive with a label.

Best regards,
David

Thanks for your reply David.

I was meaning when I am in Gmail and I send an email to someone, that I am awaiting a response, I would like the option for it to appear in my Inbox in todoist. Is this possible?

Sean,

If you send it to someone and CC or BCC the email address of your Todoist project then this email will be converted to a task, however you'd need to include @waiting within the email's subject or body so that this task will have this label.

Best regards,
David
