tasks out of sync after traveling through different time zone

This happened when I traveled from US PST to US EST zones. I never approved todoist to change time zones so I don't know that it did (I thought maybe it had gotten confused and moved tomorrow's tasks to today but I don't think it did that). In any case, my tasks due today are now out of sync. This is the first time this has ever happened. The tasks for today on my Android phone do not match the tasks for today in my Chrome browser. I've tried refreshing on both devices, but the problem remains. Any ideas?

Hi Erik,

Please make sure your phones timezone, your desktops timezone, and Todoist.com's settings are all on the same timezone. Once that is done it should resolve itself.

hi Brendon, thanks for the quick reply. The time zones were all back in sync when I got back into PST time zone. I checked all settings on phone, browser and todoist.com and they're still not in sync. I've been working today and tasks have been changing, but as an example, I have 1 task left for today on my phone but it doesn't appear in my browser for today's tasks. That task appears in browser for tomorrow, but for today on phone. Same task.

Forgot to mention, when I checked all settings, the time zones are all correct - US PST. The tasks are not in sync, but time zones are

Erik,

I'd suggest trying to log out of all locations, clear the cache for Chrome (and offline data) and clear data for Android app. Then double check timezones, and let me know if it continues.

This would remove any data not synced, but since at least one has the correct information your data should be fine.

Thanks Brendon. That did the trick. I think the cache in my browser got corrupted. I deleted the cache, logged out everywhere then back in. They are now in sync.

So I have this problem constantly. Between Pst and est. Travel once a month. Phone automatically changes zone, but I leave my laptop in est. Are you suggesting I update all my devices for a two day trip to be Pst? Phone, tablet PC etc?

Hello Alistair,

If you're actively using Todoist in all these devices, then yes, the time zones should always be adjusted to match the zone you're currently in. Todoist would also ask you to adjust the zone and if it suggests the correct one (the one you're in), you should accept.
