Task drag-n-drop is broken in Chrome

Help! Help...

Not sure what happened but all of a sudden the drag-n-drop of a task (when you drag the task around in views to reposition it) got broken.

The task goes into drag mode, and then the whole page begins scrolling down like crazy. It is absolutely impossible to get back, and as a result, depending on a view, the task gets dropped at a random place.

Can't reorder any of the tasks!

The problem appears to be specific to 7 Days view. Or rather, to scrolling down the list first. That is: get the list of tasks long enough to require vertical scrolling, scroll mid-way, then try to re-order.

Hi Nick,

So this indeed happens within the Chrome browser, on the website version? This is a known issue (though we can't reproduce) within the desktop apps. No matter how much a drag a task around, in any which way, it acts normal, it does not scroll to the bottom.

Please try clearing the cache and offline data for Chrome.

M-m-m... This happens on web version inside Chrome browser. Started all of a sudden.

Needless to say, happens after cache refresh. Did log out, flushed all Todoist cookies/data and son, logged back in again.

Moreoever, the popups -- productivity and menu with the Help option -- are not visible when you scroll away. You have to scroll back up to see them.

Related? Me thinks so. Somebody made CSS positioning of display layers very-very sad. -_-;

Again, not able to reproduce this problem. Please update Chrome to the latest version, which is 32. Also, what extensions do you have running? IF you disabling all of them, does anything change.

No extensions, can't update Chrome: that's controlled by the client's IT.

Given the thing got broken literally a few hours ago, I'd imagine there were some changes published? Is it possible to isolate what changed?

You can't be reasonably expecting your users to update lock-step with Chrome. Nobody does that, even when they have power over update process.

The thing does work as expected in Internet Explorer 9 (Windows 7 x64 Enterprise)

So, it is probably Chrome, or rather WebKit, specific.

Yes it could be, but the issue only started with Chrome, its been a day or so with new reports on the desktop apps. So you are right, but not definite.

I have let the devs know about it, and we are looking into it.

Hasn't been fixed for me. Can't drag-and-drop in web (Chrome) version or in Outlook version. Cannot get an item at bottom of task list up to top of list on 65-item list. Never rises above 40th.

Also noticed that pop-ups only appear at top of list so, if scrolled down near bottom of list, pop-ups are not visible.
