Completed tasks are showing back up in my inbox

KW

Tasks that I have marked as completed will reappear in my inbox as uncompleted tasks. I am not able to reproduce this on demand, but I've had many tasks show back up in random places in my inbox task list. Doesn't seem to matter what platform I'm on.

Yes, I had the problem, too.

I noticed that also, but only when the completed task is UNDER a parent which is a REPEATED task. I like that feature overall so manually bump completed subtasks to the bottom of the list.

Hello,

Please clarify (Kirk and Gerwin), are you referring to sub-tasks? Or recurring tasks? So far I couldn't reproduce it (even with sub-tasks below recurring parent tasks), but if you can find any pattern to it or trigger it after following certain steps please let us know.

Also, does it only happen in the Inbox or also any other projects?

Best regards,
David

Hi David,

I haven't made use of recurring tasks yet but use sub-tasks. I'm trying to trigger the issue but haven't been successful yet.

So far I have only used sub-tasks within the Inbox. I have many parent tasks and some of them have sub-tasks while others don't.

If I remember correctly, the only completed tasks that reappear in my Inbox are the parents of subtasks, and the associated subtasks themselves.

It's hard to explain what I am seeing but I will try to illustrate it with an example. Let's say I have the following tasks in my inbox:

Task A
Task B
Sub-Task B1
Sub-Task B2
Task C
Sub-Task C1
Sub-Task C2

After completing Task B and all of its sub-tasks, my Inbox now resembles:

Task A
Task C
Sub-Task C1
Sub-Task C2

Now when the completed tasks reappear, the parent is usually by itself and its sub-tasks will now have a new parent:

Task A
Task C
Task B
Sub-Task B1
Sub-Task B2
Sub-Task C1
Sub-Task C2

Kirk,

Please clarify this part: "Now when the completed tasks reappear..." when exactly do they reappear? As you reload the page? Or right after completing them you see them get back on the list without doing anything?

Best regards,
David

David,

I can reload Todoist (Gmail and Web app) on multiple computers with no issues today. However, I did notice that the Todoist iOS app isn't syncing properly and tasks that are completed and no longer exist in Gmail and Web apps are still present on the iOS app.

Kirk,

Please try signing out of the iOS app and back in again.

Regards,
Brendon.

That fixed the issues with the iOS app thus far. I'll keep an eye on my Inbox and let you know if any more completed tasks reappear.

Had completed some tasks the past few days and those tasks reappeared in my inbox again this morning. I hadn't used my chromebook for a few days but when it synced the completed tasks came back.

Kirk,

We're sorry to hear that. So far we didn't manage to reproduce this issue yet :-( but we'll keep looking into it.

Best regards,
David
