Hello,

Please tell me - in what browsers are you experiencing this issue and does it happen within a project view?

Best regards,
David

I'm using Chrome and in my experience it only happens when the list of project/tasks exceeds the screen lenght.

Best regards,

Pascal.

Pascal,

I can't reproduce this issue in Chrome, I can drag & drop the tasks as I want and it will never jump to the bottom of the page, unless I want to move it there in which case nearing the bottom will auto-scroll down so I can place the task at the bottom without having to put it in the middle, scroll manually, move it further, scroll manually etc. This feature was available ever since we've introduced drag & drop.

Best regards,
David

Apologies, my problem is in outlook. As soon as I start to drag an item, it scrolls to the bottom of the list and I can't scroll it back up. I have to use the website to reorder

To reproduce you should have a list of tasks exceeding the screen and some projects below. When you select a tasks from the top it scrolls down automatically but I just want to move the task above some other tasks in the same. You are not able to scroll back up again. So the task will always be dropped in a below.

I've created a very long task list in a project, greatly exceeding the screen size. I've tried to reproduce it in Chrome and in our Outlook plugin to no avail. No matter which task i grab, I can move it where I want, but again - if I pull it near the bottom, then it will of course scroll the view in case I would like to move it to the very bottom of the list.

Also, I've tried it with tasks in a project, tasks on the today view and even projects - can't trigger it at all.

That said, Aaron - please try to reinstall the Outlook plugin, Pascal, go to Chrome's Advanced Settings -> Content Settings -> All cookies and site data, find todoist.com on the list and delete all data associated to Todoist there, reload the browser and see if it helps.

Best regards,
David

Please try to log out, clear your caches and log back in as we still can't reproduce this issue. If it was a temporary glitch, it may persist in your cached versions of our apps.

Our apologies,

Unfortunately, we just aren't able to reproduce this issue. We have tried as suggested above, tried even in a Windowed Chrome browser, and dragging and dropping works as it should.

Please make sure you are clearing the Cache & Offline Data for Chrome to try and reset it. If there are any other details you have noticed, that could help reproduce the issue, it would be very greatly helpful.

Regards,
Brendon.

Sorry I started a post on the same topic, because I didn't see this post. This is a duplicate of my other post - I can delete my other one if you'd like.
---------------------

I am using the desktop app with the "overdue, 7days" view.

Starting today when I drag and drop a task forward the list scrolls to the bottom and doesn't allow me to scroll back up. This is making it difficult to drag tasks to even tomorrow because it jumps me too far down in the days. Of course I can go in and edit the task date, but the drag and drop capabilities are what made this so simple.

I tested this in the web app (using Chrome), and it worked just fine there. I was able to grab a task from today and move it tomorrow without the scroll jumping too far ahead.

I even thought my mouse might be causing this because the batteries were low, but after replacing them the app is still doing this.

HELP! I love this app but I need to be able to move things around and the drag and drop functionality was the best way to do this before. I'm all about less clicking!

Thanks for looking into this.
Sarah

It's not letting me edit, but I should add that mine case is happening on my Mac app. I now know why I didn't see this one. The web version using Chrome is working just fine for me.

More info for developers.

When I pick up the project, noting happened. I scrolling only when I move the mouse. In every direction I move, scroll down appears.

I tried chrome on windows 7 and I don`t have any problem so I think this is related to the stand alone app.

Normally, when you pick a item (in any sotware) you get scroll when you are near the edge of the screen. in this app you get scroll always, with any movement.

I have the issue on my mac in the Mac App (It was happening before today's app update but also happens after the lastest update).

Chrome on the Mac seems to work fine for me. But, if I am using the app on the Mac then I get the same annoying scroll problem now. As soon as I try to move an item it immediately begins to scroll all the way to the bottom even if I am moving the mouse up.

it is the app!

Fails on windows 7 and OS X

Works in Windows 7 with chrome and iexplorer and also on OS X with chrome or Safary.

Time to update those apps and correct this too! http://todoist.com/Vote/show/6916/

And also I deserve +1.000 karma points.! ^_^

More hints:

> ONLY AFFECTS PRIORITY 1 TASKS. Higher priority tasks can be dragged as expected.
> I only noticed this behaviour starting today
> Have latest update of Chrome (dev version) on Windows 7. Reloaded todoist tab & chrome.

correction #2

> Affects ALL priority level tasks
> Only affects tasks that are below a certain position on the page. Tasks above (which for me are the high priority tasks) can be reordered normally.
> the "threshold position" seems independent of the window position >> it's an absolute position on the PAGE which for me is about the 10th project down (in the left sidebar project list)

thanks!

I have an scrolling issue in the latest Windows app. When I drag a task, I can only scroll DOWN but not UP. This makes the app useless right now because I can't move tasks around.

This issue came up after the latest update issued a couple of days ago. :-/

I have this issue using a Chrome browser (but not in IE, thank goodness). On the "overdue, today" and "overdue, 7 days" views--as soon as you move down, it scrolls to the bottom and will not scroll up. This just started a few days ago. (Win 7 OS).
