Notes on a task have gone missing
Yesterday I was taking notes during user testing. I mostly user an Android tablet to enter them. I had no problem with saving, reopening and adding new ones.
Today I got into Todoist (Win 7, Chrome) to start preparing my report and all my notes are gone. I can't see them in either my Android nor in my Win7 notebook.
This is a major problem - I was counting on those to finish my job today while the testing is still fresh in my head. By monday I will have lost half of what I wanted to write.
Please tell me:
- What version of our Android app are you using?
- What version of Android are you using?
- Did you add the notes offline? If so, did you sync them later?
- Were these comments in a shared project or notes in a private project?

Just to clarify - did you add the notes offline before our update from 3.0.9 to 3.1 or already on version 3.1?
I don't know when you updated. The notes were added on 13.2.
But I can see them on my iPhone but not on browser of Android.
I don't see Notes at all anymore - did you remove that functionality?
Just to clarify - you mean 3.1.2 or 13.2?
We haven't removed the note functionality and unfortunately still can't reproduce this issue.
Please tell me:
- If you go to the Settings (on the web), then Account and use the "Issue new API token" link, then log out and back into Android - can you see the notes then?
- Can you reproduce this issue in tasks in a newly added project?
The notes were added on Feb 13. I don't know what version you had live that day but perhaps you can look at your logs and see.
Today I can't get notes anywhere - not even on iOS. I have a Comments feature but Notes has gone AWOL.
I can only find the "issue a new API token" feature on my desktop. In Android I see no such feature in Settings / Account (or any other page in Settings) and I can't even find Settings on my iPhone.
But now syncing across 13 platforms isn't updating correctly. Just one of several similar issues right now is:
I have a project Called Mobil Apps. On my desktop it has 4 tasks, in iOS it has 1 and on Android 3. (but shows a completed one Grayed out and with StrikeThrough)
It seems each device has different logic, features and rules. It forces me, basically, to learn three different apps.
Comments are the same feature as notes, but they are called "comments" in shared projects, but "notes" in private (non-shared) projects. Unfortunately, we still can't reproduce this issue, but from your description it sounds like either a caching issue or an issue with logging into multiple accounts.
I've searched our database to check if you have other accounts, an IP search revealed 5 accounts using the same IP. Even though our app can handle using the same IP by multiple accounts, are you using a network at work? If so - does it have any custom firewalls or configurations which may affect any types of connections?
We've had one report in the past from a user experiencing sync issues and it turned out that his work network was partially blocking the push notifications that update the app's data when it syncs. Outside of this network everything was syncing fine.
Other than that, clearing the cache on any device, then logging out from any device and logging back in would fix any caching issues.
Ah... Just curious, did you do user testing on features with conditional names and labels that disappear? :-)
Anyway - we do have a proxy. We're a bank with over 1000 IT people so I don't have access to any of the proxy's settings. I'll try to sync at home and see.
We're testing every feature and bug fix before release both internally and externally, but unfortunately, the nature of bugs makes them pop up under unforeseen circumstances :-(
Please let us know if a sync at home solves this issue.
