Daily Digest notification does not appear at 9:00

Device: Samsung Galaxy Note 3 (SM-N9005)
Android: Stock v4.4.2
Language: Polish
App Version: 3.0.9

Hi Team.

Although, the Daily Digest is enabled and set to appear at 9:00 it does not come up. However, when I off/on the Daily Digest the notification appears instantly showing a task scheduled for today. What's odd is that the notification comes with a message "No tasks for today", but there is one task presented and when I click it I am brought to todoist application and I see the task is really there.

The task has no reminder and was created via the persistent notification.

Hello Dominik,

Please clarify - are you referring to the Daily Digest email or the "Daily Review" Android notification?

Also, please tell me:
- Does this happen every day or only today for the first time?
- At what time of day did you turn the Digest/Review off and on?
- Do you have the correct time zone set both on your phone and in Todoist?

I am not sure how it is called in English as the interface is in Polish. I mean the feature in "Settings -> Notifications -> Daily Digest (I guess)". "Przegląd Dzienny" in Polish translation. You can find there two checkboxes and a time set to 09:00.

- Does this happen every day or only today for the first time?

It has started yesterday, when I missed the task without a reminder... Then, I put off the task to today and still there was not any notification at 9:00.

- At what time of day did you turn the Digest/Review off and on?

Right before I reported the issue here. I did that several times and it always ended up showing the notification in no time. Before, it had been always on since a couple of weeks.

- Do you have the correct time zone set both on your phone and in Todoist?

Europe/Warsaw. I did not touch it.

Hi David,

I am afraid that in the meantime I postponed the task to tomorrow and now I am not able to reproduce it. Even if I create another task for today the notification is fine now. Will try tomorrow, right after the notification does not come at 9:00 ;)

Hi David.

Unfortunately, I did not get the notification this morning. A good thing is that, this time, I was able to reproduce the notification saying that there are no tasks for today, but obviously there are some.

I'll drop you an e-mail with a screenshot in a moment.

No. Stock software without "root" and "task killer" like ideas. Yesterday I rebooted the phone, so todoist runs in pretty standard and clean environment.

David, it looks like that now the notification comes every day at 9:00, but it is still broken. Basically, it says "No tasks for today", but below I can see one task scheduled for today though.

No, this time without a due time, but I have a screenshot from 5th of March where there were two scheduled (at 9:00) tasks.

Please try to delete this task, add it again, thigh time with a due time and let me know if tomorrow you'll still see the same issue and if so - will the Digest show the correct due time for the listed task.

I scheduled a task at 9:00 and the notification has just come. It looks correct. Now, I will schedule another one, for tomorrow, without a due time.

So, when I schedule a task, for example, for tomorrow, but without a due time - it still does not work. I receive a notification with a message "No tasks for today".

Hi David.

Since 'Daylight Saving Time' which occurred last weekend, Daily Digest notification comes every day at 10:00, while I expect it at 09:00 as usual.

Time zone is Warsaw. Time and date on the device is correct.

I'm also in Poland, have my time zone set to Warsaw and I've been getting my Daily Digest every day at around 6:40 - 6:50 in the morning. However, before the time change, I've been receiving it on 5:40 which is the correct default time for its arrival.

That said, I'll pass it to our devs and we'll also look into why you're getting in so late.

Dominik,

Please try to change the time zone in your Todoist account settings, log out and back in, then change it back to the correct one and this should recalculate the time of arrival of the Daily Digest email.

Please let me know in case it won't work.
