Notifications / Reminders

C

How do I setup reminders to notify me at specific times? Like 8:25pm...then 8:33pm and so on. Also, on my mac, I only have the option "Remind me at a specific time" in the second drop down. Is this an issue? How do I select the other option? I've gone through the documentation and set everything up but when I set a reminder to a specific time I don't it one.

Essentially, I have no reminders. I can't get them to work. Something doesn't seem to be activated.

Hello,

Please try to log out and back in to make sure that Premium features are activated on your account.

There are 2 type of reminders:

1. Relative reminders - these can be set to times like "30 minutes before deadline", "1 hour before", but they are only available if the task itself has a time so that Todoist will know when exactly it should remind you (it needs a deadline to alert you 30 minutes before it). So if the task is set to "today at 3pm", for example, then you can use relative reminders with it.

2. Absolute reminders - these don't require any date or time for the task (though they will still work if the task is dated and timed) and they allow you to type in the reminder date and time manually (every day at 16:00, for example).

Best regards,
David

Hey guys, I still can't get any type of reminder to work. And the option to choose between relative and absolute reminders is greyed out. Could this be a permissions issue? I originally logged in with Gmail but then set my password so I could log in without it.

Hi,

As David mentioned above, Relative reminders are only available when you have a time set for a task. So the task would need a due date as "today at 2pm" for example. Then when you go to the Reminder menu, Relative will be an option. So you have created a task with a due date such as this, and you still cannot add a relative reminder?

As long as you are logged into your account, then there should not be an issues.

Regards,
Brendon.

Thanks for the instructions...I have it working. Although push notifications only work if the app is open which I do not find very useful. Any work around this? I am on an iPhone 5 with iOS 7.

Hi,

The reminders should work with the app open or closed. Are you 100% sure you are connected to the internet at all times, have you logged out and back in again since this thread was started?

Regards,
Brendon.
