Why do the items on my to do list reorder themselves after I manually order them?

J

I am new to Todist and in the trial period experimenting with this software. I like many things, but I am having trouble (both on PC and Mac) in that when I manually order my list in the order of my top priority items each day, the items do not stay in that order. If I leave and go back to the screen, they re-arrange without my adjusting them. How can I prevent this from happening?

Hello Jamie,

Please clarify - are you rearranging tasks that all have the same priority (and no due time) only within the same priority group or are you actually moving a task with p1 at the bottom of the list below priority 4 tasks, for example?

In the second case - that can't be done and this will indeed cause the tasks to get back to their priority group, within which you can reorder them manually.

Best regards,
David

Hi David,

Thanks for your reply. I am re-arranging tasks all in the same priority (all due today, but no specific time today). I always arrange P1 tasks first on my list, and then P2 and so on...

Jamie,

Are you using the Mac App/PC Desktop app, or a browser? Does it sync the changes, and then changes back? You can normally see sync icon move at the bottom.

Brendon.

Hi Brendon,

I have been trying to watch to see when this happens. I am using the Mac App when it happens. I use the Mac Desktop app to arrange the order of my Top Priority Tasks, and when I go back later in the day, they are often in another order. Should I need to manually sync every time I make changes?

Jamie,

No you shouldn't have to manually sync, but it may be a good idea to see if it helps. If it does, then there is something with the auto syncing, and maybe your connection?

Brendon.
