completed tasks still showing in list

J

When I check off completed tasks, they continue to show in the list (albeit greyed out & strikethrough text). When I check them off on the phone app, they get moved to the completed section on the website, but on my phone they persist. If I check tasks off on the website, they are no longer shown on my phone app. Any ideas what's going on/how to fix it?

Thanks!

Hi Jess,

So you are saying these are no sub-tasks? As they are supposed to stay checked off until the parent task is completed. If it isn't sub-tasks, it seems to be a slight glitch, please try signing out, clearing the data for the app and back into it again.

Regards,
Brendon.

Nope, they're not subtasks, it's happening with all tasks in all projects that don't have a recurring date set. Recurring tasks move to the next set occurrence, but all other tasks remain in the "today or "7 days" or "start page" or whatever list, greyed out and in strikethrough text. Signing out / clearing the data did not change this behavior.

(Incidentally, I understand that subtasks don't move to history until their parent tasks are marked completed, but they should - and have in the past - stop showing in the various task lists once they're marked complete....)

Hi Jess,

Are these complex tasks, such as "every wed at 2pm starting feb 2" for example, or were they just "today" tasks?

You are updated to the latest version of app our? 3.0.9?

Regards,
Brendon.

First, yes, I have v. 3.0.9.

Regarding the dates, yes, they're ones with simple dates, like "feb 2 @1200", "tom", and so on. The ones with complex repeating dates like your example of "every wed at 2pm starting feb 2" are the ones that are behaving correctly, i.e., when I check one occurrence it moves it to the next Wednesday just as it should do.

Thanks-

- Jess

Hello Jess,

If you complete any parent task on Android, it will stay grayed out allowing you to un-complete it (if it was checked off accidentally) for as long as you don't change the view.

That said, please tell me - if you complete such task, then go to a different project and back, do you still see these completed tasks on the list?

Best regards,
David

Yes, they never go away, even after changing the view, signing out, etc. The only way to stop them showing is to un-check them so they show again on the website, and check them off there.

Thanks -

Jess,

Which version of Android are you running and which device do you have? I will pass this onto the developers, though we are having trouble reproducing it.

Brendon.

I was actually just wondering if that might be the problem. I have a pretty old phone, a Droid X2 running Android 2.3.5. I appreciate your attention to this issue, but I'll understand if it ends up being something that's due to my phone and can't really be "fixed". Thanks!
