No desktop notification for Mac OS client?

RS

Hi,
I just purchased the Premium plan of Todoist. I use it on Mac OS Mavericks. When adding a new task and adding a reminder to that task on Mac OS, the only usable option I see is "via email". The other two options are grayed out. Doesn't Todoist have desktop notifications for this? If not, any other better idea than receiving an email every time? Else, I will have to cancel the Premium package as this is a deal breaker for me :(
Thanks,
Rohit

Hello Rohit,

Unfortunately, our Mac app doesn't feature such notifications. Aside from email reminders you can also receive SMS reminders or mobile push notifications with our iOS app.

Nonetheless, if you're not satisfied with these solutions either, you can request a refund by posting the order reference ID of your payment.

Best regards,
David

+1 for native notification support in the Mac client. Thought I was doing something wrong. Seems like a pretty essential feature for a to do app. Hopefully this is high on the list of priorities.

:-) Hey everyone, here's an alternative method to getting those notifications on your desktop: http://www.getnotifyr.com/

(+1) Run the app on your phone, pair with your mac, and when those notifications come in on your phone they appear on the screen like any other Growl message.

:-/ While this works, it would be best to have an app that supports native notifications. So I'm gonna +1 this, too.

Dear Todoist Staff,

Rohit Singh here, the person who started this thread. It's been around 7 months and there's still no news about desktop notifications. I was hoping for some change in this regard (and/or may be some other features) and hence had re-joined Todoist Premium few days back.
I would like to request for a refund yet again (Reference: ch_4WtfWGqzmSpwGe). The purchase was done on August 04, 2014. It's kinda sad to see that in the past 7 months, no major features have been added. I guess your efforts are getting divided in maintaining so many platforms. Why not concentrate on few platforms and excel there? Please process the refund.

Thanks.

Rohit,

We are sorry to hear that, your payment has now been refunded.

We add new features all the time, and fix issues as well. I am sorry that you feel this is not the truth. It can take time to create and add new features, depending on what is being worked on, what needs to be worked on, and so forth.

Regards,
Brendon

Todoist Staff,

It has been a frustrating few weeks on todoist. Between the syncing issues, application problems and missing features like notifications, I feel like I have had to invest too much time into just getting things to work. I love the idea of todoist, it has almost everything I need in a program like this, but it needs some real polish. I can't figure out how to get in touch with support apart from these threads, so I was hoping you would issue me a refund. (reference: ch_4Yj8lMbN2jX0EB and ch_4N6uN0RSlpMuUb).

I appreciate your hard work on this program and know that you will keep getting better, perhaps a day will come where I will be tempted to return. Until then, I appreciate your understanding and a refund of my investment.

Thanks.
