reminders not working

M

I had a trial of Premium that I let lapse for a couple weeks. Then I purchased it today, logged out and back in everywhere I use Todoist but my reminders are not working. In the browser, the little clock icon shows up for a split second and then disappears.

Hi,

So you have added a new task, with a reminder to it, and save. Then the clock icon goes away, and no reminder happens? What is the exact syntax used to create the task/reminder, what type of reminder (SMS, PUSH, Email).

Regards,
Brendon.

Correct, I add a new task on Today using the + sign in the upper right. I add a date and time and save. The clock appears briefly, then goes away. No reminder is sent. I have tested both SMS and push notifications without luck.

Any updates on the issue thus far? I've been experiencing the same problem.

Kincaid,

The issue should already be resolved in a previous update. Make sure you refresh your browser. Try logging out, clearing the cache for it and trying again.

Regards,
Brendon.

Brandon,

Thanks for the quick response.

I logged out and cleared my cache in Chrome, but am still experiencing the issue.

Reminders appear to work in Firefox, but then it'll sync the reminder, it'll show up in Chrome, then disappear, sync again, and then disappear in Firefox shortly thereafter, which would suggest its specific to Chrome. Not entirely certain, but that's what it appears.

Thanks,
Kincaid

Hello Kincaid,

Please let us know what's the exact due date and time of the task and the type, date and time of the reminder so we can attempt to reproduce it under the same circumstances. Also please include such details as - how do you add the reminder? Right as you add the task through the reminder menu, using the <remind> syntax? After the task is added?

Best regards,
David

Hey David,

Typically, I don't add a due date to the task, although, even when I do, it
still occurs. I typically add a label such as "@school," and generally I
add the reminder *after *I've added the task, from the reminder menu. I
always set the reminder to Mobile Push Notification (the default). As for
the reminder date/time, "tomorrow at 7:40am" is typical.

Kincaid,

Please tell me:
- What version of Android or iOS are you using?
- If you're using Android, can you confirm if syncing with Android (you can trigger it manually in the top-right corner -> Refresh) causes the reminders to disappear (as we suspect)?

Best regards,
David

David,

I'm running Android 4.4.

It appears that may be the problem. When adding/setting a reminder on my device (selecting "Reminders" in the overflow menu for a task), the reminder will appear for a fraction of a second, and then disappear.

When I add it in Chrome, and it syncs, the reminder never appears on my device after syncing.

To test if it really is Todoist on my phone, I uninstalled it, and it appears the reminders I set in Chrome stick, at least for the meantime.
