Tasks not updating/deleting

Experiencing a strange problem where tasks aren't updating with the changes i'm making e.g. changing names, adding tags, deleting. Whatever I do it seems to revert back to the state it was originally added. The internet connection here is pretty healthy, so not sure that is the cause.

I'm having a similar problem I think. I've tried several times to move some tasks out of my inbox and into the relevant 'project' and each time they pop straight back into the inbox.

Any idea what's causing that?

I've lost my work of several days. I'm really quite displeased right now. I was working in the mac desktop app and just restarted it. Now I have 40 less completed tasks and who knows what tasks I added recently that may be lost.

This is a lot of bullshit. I added a lot of stuff to todoist in an intensive work session over the last several days.

I have experienced some strange behaviour today. A task that I created and then assigned to another user. He completed the task but it reappeared when he synced on both of our lists. I ticked to complete the task but even I cannot delete or complete it!

I can't save due dates nor am I able to reorder tasks.

recurring tasks do not disappear when checked as done: they appear greyed and striked out for a moment then reappear... :(

I'm having the same issues:
- tasks get mixed up under other tasks
- new added tasks are lost
- completed tasks are re-appearing
- completed items from weeks and months ago re-appear under today's completed items

What is going on? It's becoming less and less productive! Instead of taking time to tick out the todo list, I have to frequently go through the items to make sure they are under the good sections. Please make the service like it used to be, as like most others, I rely on this service daily. Else I will have to go somewhere else.

I'm having all of the above issues, plus subtasks are no longer associated with the correct parent task. When I reorganize them, they just get mixed up again.

Please tell which version of Todoist was the last prior to Todoist Next. Until you sort this out, I need to run a stable version.

I am also experiencing extremely frustrating problems today :

- sub-tasks are moving on their own to the next parent task and I cannot move them back

- some tasks refuse to be marked as completed (a copy reappears even though the task is in the completed tasks list at the bottom of the page)

- Some tasks have their title be replaced by the title of another task, again I cannot revert these changes.

I am completely unable to use todoist today and any attempt at correcting the problems I had mess up my lists even more ...

We're very sorry for the inconvenience, we're looking into this right now.

To anyone who lost some data or changes from the past - if you have a Premium account, you can restore the past state of your task from the Settings -> Backups.

Ditto! This is absurd! If this isn't fixed immediately I am leaving Todoist (and I'm a long time premium member). I don't have time to deal with these kinds of problems. "Sorry for the inconvenience" is not enough! You guys need to check that everything works before you roll out all your changes.

I signed up for Premium today and am already regretting the decision, since my edits are not being retained by the system (priority changes, text edits, etc.). I really hope this is taken care of over the next couple of days, or I'm going to have to ask for my money back.

Ditto here this morning. Except mine is a very weird and specific use-case:

1. Create a new task using Outlook Todoist plugin
2. Assign the task to be due today
3. Assign the task to a specific sub-project that seems to be having the issue

When I go to check the task off as complete (regardless of where... Outlook, web, etc.), it will revert back and uncheck it. I also cannot delete it.

Same issue here. VERY VERY frustrating! I was trusting Todoist 100% since November as a Premium member, and this kind of Service cannot afford such issues. Please keep us posted ASAP!

PS - This time of day is probably the worst for this to happen, because everybody's getting in to work and starting to check off tasks, and seeing what needs to be done for the day. I really hope this is getting looked at with the utmost priority. I hope the 1 hour+ response time on this thread doesn't reflect how long it took them to start looking at this.

I am also experiencing the problem. I have a task with exclamation marks !e-mail the bank! and it is stuck. If I amend it in any way, complete it or even delete it, it re-appears! Help!

The emails that I send to my Inbox are not showing up, or alternatively the note is missing when they do get through. Is this part of this issue or is that another problem you are working on?

Thanks very much.. everything is working fine now :) One question, I downloaded a backup to make sure that everything is in it's place, but all the items in the backup are in a text file near each other. Is there a way that I can view them under each other? But I don't want to restore the backup as it will overwrite my new items.

Clive,

Unfortunately, that's not possible. They are optimized for our "import from template" feature, but this feature does not overwrite items. If you would import it into an existing project, these tasks would get added to it.

Feel free to create a new project and try it out.

Hello George,

Please tell me - did you at any point in the last days sync the data? If so, the automatic daily backup includes everything that's on the server that day, have you checked all backups you have?

I checked the last 3 backups.

I'm incredibly disappointed in you people. I liked todoist a lot but clearly your app can not be trusted. Very sad. I'm moving on.
