How to get rid of phantom tasks?
I'm seeing 3 extra phantom tasks since Todoist Next rolled out. Although I only have 2 outstanding tasks today, I see the number 5 on iPad, iPhone, and Chrome plugin. I cleared Chrome cache but nothing changed. How do I fix this?
Please try logging out of all locations, clear the cache for your browser and sign back in. Yes you cleared cache for chrome, but also sign out of the mobile devices as well.
I did all that and still there. Could it be related to comments from a task I've shared and assigned to someone else? If so, I can't seem to get rid of them.
Please try to add one task due today, delete it, then log out and back in and see if it helps.
If it won't, please tell us - do you see it in the standard "today" view or also "7 days"? If there are tasks due today assigned to someone else, are there exactly 3 of them? You can search for :to_others: to see them and check their due dates.
Still no good. I'm using Chrome with the plugin. Just now, the icon had a 3 on it. When I opened it, the count went down to 1. A search result of ":to_others:" gives me one due today, one with no due date, one for 2/27, and last set for 3/20.
So to clarify - you're only referring to the icon of the Chrome plugin and not the number of tasks next to the "Today" or "Next 7 days" filters?
If so, please try to manually remove Todoist's offline date in Chrome's Advanced Settings -> Content Settings -> All cookies and site data, reload Chrome and log in directly to through the Chrome plugin.
I did all that cache clearing.
I'm talking about the icon count indicator everywhere: Chrome, iPhone, and iPad. This morning, I had 6 on the icon (everywhere) but only 4 tasks next to Today. At the moment I see 9 on the icon and 6 next to Today
Are you yourself logged into more than one place, maybe two computers? Please try logging out of both, clearing the cache for both, and then sign back into it.
I did that. I logged out of every app and browser, cleared all caches, rebooted all devices, then slowly logged back in. Something new is happening and I feel like it's somehow related to the Next features like folder sharing, collaborative comments, and the notifications around all that.
We're sorry for the inconvenience. The only remaining option or reason for this to happen (based on similar past reports) would be an incorrect time zone. The icons show the number of tasks that are overdue or due today, if the time zone is set incorrectly on Todoist or your devices, it could consider tasks due tomorrow as due today or tasks due today as overdue.
Do you have tasks due tomorrow and if so, does the total count of tasks overdue + due today + due tomorrow match the incorrect task count on the icons?
I do but they don't add up.
