Stop tasks received via email turning every @... into a label

NC

I'm using the email to inbox capability to send tasks from email to the Todoist inbox. Some of these emails use @ followed by words or letters.

Todoist is creating labels based on this and I then have to go in and delete them. How do I stop this? Emailing tasks in is a critical part of my workflow and I cannot control whether people use @'s in their emails to me.

Thanks

Niel

Hi Niel,

Can you tell me an example of an email sent that creates a label? Sadly, if it does have @words within the subject, there is no real solution. If you add a space between it, that would not happen.

It's an email containing an @word within the body of the email. It would be good if you can set it to only use pre-created labels and not create them for every @word in an email. The workflow involves flagging an email then forwarding it automatically with a rule so putting spaces in is not an option (and would stop this being a streamlined process).

Are there any other options for creating tasks from an email. I'm on a mac and use either mail .app or Outlook for Mac.

Unfortunately, there are no other options for Mac at this time. We will look into if there are anything we can do.

Brendon.

This is a really big problem for me. The social solution we use at work uses @ before every person's name you put into a post. We get email notifications and you can end up with multiple labels being created if you forward the notification. So this can amount to 10s of new unwanted labels a day.
I need a function to stop Todoist picking up labels from the main body of the mail or even to switch off creation of labels from emails sent to Todoist altogether would be very welcome

+1 on this. I just manually deleted (one at a time) the 50 or so new garbage labels that were created from a single email that I forwarded to my inbox (it happened to be a bug report that had some cmake/makefile output). If the option was available, I would happily turn off the ability to create new labels from the email parsing, and only use existing labels.
