Assigned to Me & Assigned to Others filters not working

Hello,

I've assigned tasks to both myself and someone else, but nothing is showing up in either of the Assigned filters. Do I need to change the query?

Thanks!

Hi Maria,

Which platform is this? If you try this on another, say mobile does it still not show anything? Are you 100% sure the tasks were indeed assigned, and the edit mode actually saved that detail?

Regards,
Brendon.

I'm on a Mac (Mavericks OS). After I assigned the tasks to myself (and to one other person) the picture changed next to each. So, I'm assuming they're indeed assigned (right?). Did I need to do something else to assign them?

Also, I double-checked the query, and it's :to me: as the directions indicate it should be.

Just checked the mobile, too (sorry for multiple posts). Nothing shows up on iPad or iPhone...

i could swear I saw these filters previously, but now I don't see them. I tried to manually make them, but they don't work. I appreciate your help.
Thanks, Rusty

Hello Rusty,

Please confirm - are you setting the queries of these filters to

:to_me:

and

:to_others:

and these don't work?

Best regards,
David

That's all the info I needed! I just updated my filters to include the underscore, and they now work. The Todoist help page, however, doesn't include the underscore:

https://todoist.com/Help/Filtering

Updating that page might keep other people from having this issue.

Now, though, some tasks that aren't assigned to me (are not even in a shared project) are showing up on the :to_me: filtered page. Any ideas as to why that is happening?

Maria,

We'll update the help page, sorry for the confusion.

Regarding the second issue, please try to log out, clear the browser's cache, reload the browser, log back in and see if it helps.

Best regards,
David

I tried it, but it didn't work. Still some individual tasks from other lists popping up in the Assigned to Me filter. I don't see a connection between them, so I'm not sure why they're showing up but not others.

Maria,

Are these tasks in shared projects? If so, could you please ask someone who is also within this shared project if one or more of these tasks are assigned to you or not? Just to exclude the possibility that these tasks actually are assigned to you, but the issue is that you don't see them as being assigned (only the filter does).

David

Maria,

Actually, you don't have to do that, we've managed to reproduce this issue now and we're looking into it.

David

Okay, thanks. I only have one shared project, and the extra tasks are not part of it.

This issue should be fixed in the latest release.

When is this release happening? Now, the tasks aren't just showing up in my "Assigned to Me" filters page - my picture is also being added in iOS apps to tasks in projects that aren't shared.

Maria,

The update should already be out. Just log out of your account and back in again to make sure it has loaded the latest.

Brendon.

Hi Brandon,

I've logged out of my laptop, iPad & iPhone and then logged back in with no change. Individual, non-shared or assigned tasks are still being filtered into "Assigned to Me." Is there something else I can try?

Thanks!

Maria,

Have you tried searching for just ":to_me:" instead of using the pre-built filter on the left menu? Or did you build the filters yourself, as they were missing? Either way, do both not work?

Regards,
Brendon.

Brandon,

I've double-checked the filters, and I also get the same result when I simply do a :to_me: search. I also don't see any connection between the independent tasks that are popping up, so I'm not clear as to why those particular tasks are being filtered in. The :to_others: filter works perfectly, though.

Maria,

Please tell me - is it possible that the tasks that show up in the :to_me: filter were assigned to you in the past and then the assignment was removed from them?

David

Hi David,

I created all of those tasks in the past couple of weeks, and I've only recently starting assigning tasks in a couple of my projects which clearly show that they're shared. Was assigning tasks even possible before sharing was added? The "extra" tasks are scattered across various projects and areas... Really not sure what's going on.

Maria,

Assigning tasks was not available before. So these tasks were never in any shared project, not even moved from a shared project to a private project (and clearing the cache didn't help)?

Also, are you only using :to_me: and not "today & :to_me:", for example?

Best regards,
David

Nope. Those projects were never shared. The tasks might have been moved from my Inbox to their specific project or area, but they were never in a shared project.

I've logged out from my laptop, Chrome extension, and iOS apps, cleared the cache, and logged back in multiple times with no change.

Yes, I've double-checked the filter and it only says :to_me: with no other letters or symbols. I've even deleted the filter and recreated it to see if that helps. Again, no change.

Oops, I spoke too soon. After logging out and logging back in, the filters are still messed up on iPhone & iPad (but working perfectly on my laptop). Is there something I need to do to fully reset my iOS apps? Thanks!

Maria,

Please try to delete and reinstall the iOS app, though you may need to wait for our upcoming iOS app update if this won't work.

David
