All of a sudden I have no tasks (not true) and my projects have duplicates. What in the world is going on?
I believe this was caused by our server issues. Please log out and back in again on all platforms, and let me know if this is still the case.
Logged out and logged back in - same problems as before (duplicate projects and no tasks).
We're very sorry for the inconvenience, we've had some syncing issues lately, all have been fixed, thought. Please tell me - did you enter any data offline in the last few hours and cleared either your browser's of the app's cache or used the Mac app?
Also, are you certain that you're logging into the same account as always and can you see your data when using a different browser (one you never used with Todoist before)?
I did not enter any data offline to my knowledge. I am on Windows, so no Mac app. And I have not cleared anything from my browser.
I am logging into the same account (the one associated with the account I'm commenting on. I was in Chrome and logging into firefox shows the same problems (no tasks, duplicate projects).
There has been some more backend changes, does logging out, clearing the cache for Chrome, and logging back in still not resolve the issue?
If not, I will let the devs know about it.
Yeah, not working. I have to give up on Todoist. I put all my information in it, threw out all my post-its and then I lost my entire to do list. I've been very patient throughout the day but I can't keep troubleshooting something that shouldn't have happened in the first place. Tell your devs/sysops they lost you at least 1 user today.
I'm running into the same thing. I've kept everything in one big list and then put tasks in projects yesterday. Today in the Chrome app, iphone, everywhere, had duplicate projects - some two some six. I deleted any of those without a number by it - because they were empty. My immediate To Dos project has a 10 by it but there is nothing in the folder. Now I don't know what any of my Immediate To Do were! Help. Please.
Please tell me - did you delete the duplicate projects in each platform (the same ones multiple times) or only once and then synced the changes?
Can you find any of your tasks when using the search options?
I deleted all the duplicate ones once if they did not have a number by them. Left the ones that did. I did see about 20 things were left in the original project and had not moved as it appeared when I left that page. And many of them had become duplicates. And found some items missing in project folders. Did not find them doing search.
We're very sorry for the inconvenience, we're unsure how this could happen. Data loss is an extremely serious issue and we'll look through all sync mechanisms again to make sure it never happens. Unfortunately, it's possible that this unsynced data could be lost :( Do you only have this one Todoist account or another account that's Premium? On a Premium account you could access the backups and see if the data is available in one of the recently generated backup files.
Fortunately I have two iphones, so I put the one on airplane mode so when I opened todoist it wouldn't sync and I could pull the data and retyped into the app open on the computer. I still lost those I in put the day of the loss, but had the older stuff. No idea how it happened either.
