Email Tasks to Inbox with Todoist Next
With the new upgrade to Todoist Next I can't seem to email tasks to my inbox any longer. Was this feature intentionally removed? I am on a Mac OS 10.6.8, using Google Chrome Version 32.0.1700.77
This feature is still available and I just checked to confirm if it works and it does.
To clarify - in order to send email as tasks to your Inbox, you have to enter the Inbox, click on the tools icon in the top-right area, choose "Email tasks to this project" and use this email address to send your emails as tasks. If you send them from a different email address than the one you use with Todoist, you have to add it at teh bottom of teh "Email tasks to this project" window.
I have the same issue, I did the steps to get the address of my inbox, but it sends it back rejected.
I am using the account email address.
Please try to add @gmail.com to the list of accepted email addresses in the "Email tasks to this project" window (at the bottom) and let us know if the issue persists.
Get's returned as an unknown email address.
Tried both @gmail.com and @yahoo.com
We're sorry for the inconvenience, we're still unsure what causes it (as we can't reproduce this issue so far). Please try to send one mail today and let me know if it works. If not, we'll look into it as an account-based issue.
Me, too. All emails to any project from any approved address are bounced. This is a critical error that needs immediate resolution.

Same problem here. There is no "email tasks to this project" menu option for the Inbox in Todoist Next. The only practical workaround is to create a dummy project, and send emails to it.
Please enter the Inbox and at the top of your list, in the upper-right area , you'll see a tools icon which says "Task Actions". Click on it and you'll find the "Email tasks to this project" option there.
Same problem here PLUS receiving 2 emails of error for only one sent to any project of my list.
One titled: Model error, and another one titled: Unknown email address.
BUT, the my new task from the "error email" is still ADDED to the good project on Todoist.
By the way, my email address is ok and saved in Todoist.
Seems as though my issue has been resolved. Something changed, not sure if you guys rebuild the INBOX or what, but the email address changed and it now works.
Please tell me - did you go to the "Email task to this project" menu and got the new, now updated email address to send your tasks into?
If so and the issue persists, please add:
to the bottom list of the accepted addresses in the "Email tasks..." window.
Sending from my personal email address . or from an B@gmail.com address I do not get any inbound tasks into todoist either.

The issue is still out there. The emails do arrive in my Inbox but I am still getting the two error messages mentioned by Eric. I have logged out and cleared the caches on my brouwers and logged in again. The issue is still there. It is becoming annoying.
Strange, if I forward an email the content is removed. However if I write an email then the content is sent on OK.
I was receiving the bounce email saying that I was sending from an invalid email address and a second Model error.
I noticed that the email address I normally use to send in email to my inbox had some extra numbers at the end.
So I re copied the address from the inbox '> Task Actions -> Email Tasks To This Project and sent the email to this new address and did not receive the invalid email error, but still received the model error.
All of my email addresses that i had been using do appear in the list of email addresses that can be sent. I am assuming that the email addresses are not case sensitive.
+1 to this issue. I've replaced all of my project emails tonight with the new ones, and my email (plus @gmail) are covered as approved emails to receive from. But the emails just don't show up as to-dos. No bounces, no messages. They just don't show up in Todoist.
Finally I have been able to solve the issue of receiving error messages whilst the email do arrive in the Inbox. Apparently the email address of the Inbox has changed after the update.
I am suffering the same issue, been in and checked to make sure my email address is in the list of accepted addresses. I've copied the email address into Outlook.com and sent a few tasks to it. I'm not getting any bounced emails, but I'm also not also seeing any tasks arriving in my Inbox.
Interestingly I just sent an email from an non-approved email address to my Inbox and got two failure notices straight away so you must be receiving the emails. Possibly a processing issue when emails are received to the correct Inbox from the accepted email address?
Tasks sent to inbox arrive just fine, but model and unknown email errors continue. I deleted and replaced email addresses and added @gmail.com to the list of acceptable addresses.
Any other ideas?
I can't enter the Inbox to find its email address.
I just created a new account and could enter the Inbox and find its email address normally. Back in my existing premium acct, I still can't use the inbox at all.
Anyone getting bounced emails though the tasks still get added, we are looking into this issue right now.
@Kate, please head to your Account Settings, then under Account click on "Issue a New API Token" which should fix your Inbox, and then you can grab the new email.
I have noticed that my project address has slightly changed, I am guessing with Todoist Next. Not sure if this is the cause but I got a bounce and it still added it to my list.
I'm using the newly-updated Inbox email address. I also tried the New API Token suggested by Brendon. Emails continue to bounce and do not add tasks to my inbox.
We're looking into the issue that causes the bounce email to be sent. Sorry for the inconvenience.
However, regardless of this message, the email you send should actually be added to your task list. Are you sending it from the email address you're using with Todoist? If not, did you add the other address to the list at the bottom of the "Email tasks to this project" window? Try to add a wildcard domain there such as @gmail.com even for your primary Todoist email address.
Same problem here. New API did not fix.
We were experiencing some issues with sending emails as tasks in general, but it's been fixed now. Please let me know if the issue still persists and if so - only in the Inbox or also in any other project?
Oddly enough I can send emails from my Office 365 account and they are received into the Inbox. However, when I send emails from My gmail account they do not bounce, but they never appear in the todo list.
Please try to add @gmail.com (just that - no login name at the front) to the list of accepted email addresses in the "Email tasks to this project" window and if that won't help, please tell me - are you using any specific signature with Gmail?
Could you send one sample mail that doesn't arrive on your task list to email@example.com and firstname.lastname@example.org ?

Please try to go to the Settings -> Account, use the "Issue a new API token" link there, then log out and back in, go to the Inbox, get the email address for it, remove the "Inbox" name and the <> signs and send the email to this address and see if it helps.
Also, please use a lowercase "p" in the email address (project... not Project). This shouldn't usually be an issue, but please try it to make sure if that's not causing the problem.
This was the issue. Once I changed all of the email addresses I had stored
to a small 'p' they posted perfectly. One would wonder why, but at least
it is working.
