I lose manual order in Today view !

A

One of the things I love from Todoist is the possibility of manual order, but since yesterday I am losing the order of tasks in Today view. For myself is critical important to keep the order of my tasks, not only in the web or Mac app, but also in my Android Tablet (that works perfectly) and my iPhone (that works poorly)

Hi Alejandro,

This is an issue we have been dealing with for awhile as we have yet been able to 100% reproduce it, and makes it difficult to solve. It normally goes away by itself.

That being said, we believed with our major update Today (TD Next) that this could go away, as many code has changed. Please log out of all locations, clear cache for Apps/Browsers, and log back in.

Let me know if it continues to do so.

Thanks,
Brendon.

Do I have to also log out from the Mac App? Just wondering, Is your Mac App like a browser dedicated app?

Alejandro,

Yes log out from the Mac App, and clear the cache for Safari (the app uses this) and see if that helps.

Thanks,
Brendon.

When you say locations, you mean my mobile devices? I have two mobile phones, the other one is a Blackberry

Alejandro,

Yes, I mean all devices you are using Todoist, anything you have Todoist installed on or logged into. Sorry for the mis-undertsanding.

Let me know if the issue goes away after doing so.

Thanks,
Brendon.

What I did was:

Enable the Develop menu to clear the cache

From your Safari menu bar click Safari > Preferences then select the Advanced tab.

Select: Show Develop menu in menu bar

Now from the menu bar click Develop > Empty Caches

A task marked as priority 1 or 2 MUST be first always in Today view?

Hi Alejandro,

With Safari open, click on Safari in the top menu bar, then "Reset Safari.." A popup will happen, clear data and history.

Thanks,
Brendon.

Alejandro,

That way works as well.

Yes, the Today view is sorted by priority. Are you having issues with it being mixed up?

Yes, I am having a mess.

I used to manual order my tasks the way I wanted, even if the task has priority.

A task could be priority 1 but maybe it must be done after you do other tasks.

Could I send a screenshot ?

Alejandro,

You can send a screenshot to brendon@doist.io and david@doist.io though this is a known issue that has been troublesome to resolve. It can resolve itself over a bit of time.

We are looking into this issue, though without much luck, we believed todays update would have solved it.

Regards,
Brendon.

Hello Sanjay,

Please clarify - do these tasks have priorities or due times? Prioritized and timed tasks will be resorted manually according to their priority.

Best regards,
David

Hi,

Do you have an idea about the solution of this issue?

Hello Alejandro,

If the task you're reordering have different priority and you're moving them between priorities - that's no longer possible. If you're moving them within the same priority - we're investigating this issue, though so far unfortunately to no avail - we can't trigger it under any circumstance :(

Best regards,
David

A suggestion to users : A way to manage this situation is to put time to the tasks.

Example: Cll Susana @15

So you could have the tasks in the order you need
