unmanageable pop-up when adding a gmail email to Todoist

B

Note that I've just started using Todoist, and as part of that process I've added the Firefox Add-in for Todoist. I'm on Windows 7, and version 26.0 of Firefox.

to reproduce the issue
- Gmail setting 'Display Density' is Compact
- open an email message
- click the TD Add button
- a Todoist pane opens, with the task available for update
- but I can't close that pane -- it looks like the top & bottom edges of the pane (where I suspect the X to close it is) have 'run off' the edge of the screen

I have a screenshot of the scenario, but don't see any way to upload it.

Are you able to re-create this issue? Any suggestions of a change I can make to eliminate the problem? It seems odd that this pane is so large, since I'm only adding the one task (the open email message).

thanks for any guidance

Bob

Hi Bob,

Unfortunately, I can't seem to reproduce this issue. I followed your instructions exactly, and I am able to close the new task window, as well as the Todoist panel.

Do you have any other extensions installed that may change the layout, or block scripts or anything such as this?

Regards,
Brendon.

hi Brendon -- thanks for the follow-up

I'm not aware of any extensions that would change the layout, and for sure I haven't installed any block scripts (I would have no idea how to do that! lol)

Once I've closed the New Task window, the top of the Todoist panel is still cut off. If I scroll up as far as possible I can just see the bottom half of the word Inbox -- but I can't get to the title bar to click the X to close that panel.

Is there a way for me to send you a screenshot so you can see what I'm experiencing?

Bob,

Please send the screenshot to brendon@doist.io.

Bob,

Thanks for the email. It appears that you are very zoomed in while in Gmail, is this true? Which zoom percentage are you using?

Unfortunately, if this is the case, there isn't much to be done, as we would need to create a way for the app to resize to a whole new layout, as that zoom leaves not much room for a normal re-size of the plugin.

Regards,
Brendon.

yikes! yes, I've been setting my browser for a degree of zoom, to help these tired old eyes that are badly in need of new glasses (underway as we speak) -- but I hadn't realized just how much zoom I'd become accustomed to.

Of course, your observations make excellent sense. I've reduced the zoom, and the todoist pane is operating just fine, as you noted.

Apologies for the trouble, and thank you very much for helping get to the bottom of it.

Right there with you, Bob. I'm glad you posted this because I had the same problem and also didn't realize I was zoomed in. Thanks!
