Automatic labels are losing capitalisation - bug or feature?

When I add a new task and include one or more labels for automatic creation, any capitalisation on the labels is lost.

For example
"Speak with Jim about new project @JimD" creates a label "jimd" and not "JimD".

I can do ahead and alter the label after it has been created to give it capitals which is great.

Bug or feature request?

Hello Bruce,

This is something we'll look into it after our big update (later this month). Technically, our system prefers not to differentiate uppercase and lowercase characters within labels that's why a newly added label will become lowercase by default.

Considering that, as you've noticed, it's possible to edit it later and this setting will be remembered, we will consider changing the handling of newly added label from within a task so that it will remember capitalization.

Thanks for listening. I don't suppose you issue ticket or tracking numbers for this type of thing do you?

I'm happy for labels to be capitalisation neutral (for searches etc). I would like them to retain capitalisation though. So the text of labels should be the same as the text names for Projects and Tasks. They keep the capitalisation and when you search capitalisation is ignored.

As an aside I'd like to see organisational capabilities for labels (i.e. a hierarchy) like Projects and Tasks. I have quite a few now and managing them is going to get increasingly difficult. I raise this as a feature request.

If a bug or a reported issue is fixed, we usually notify the people who reported it by posting in the original threads so we have the URL of this thread attached in our task for this. Once it's done, we'll post here to inform you.
