Today's daily digest is suddenly not in English
I was using both web and mobile applications in English for some time. Two days ago I've installed todoist app on an Android tablet with Italian locale. This morning I get the digest in Italian that skips the inbox and goes directly to gmail's spam folder.
How can change the digest language back to English? I can't see anything related in the apps settings.
Please try to log in at https://todoist.com click on the gear icon in the top-right corner and go to "Settings" to see what language you have selected there.
Also make sure that you or someone else hasn't accessed your Todoist account while using a device set to Italian.
If this won't work, try to go to the "Account" tab in the Settings, opt out from the Daily Digest, close this window, then go back to the Settings and opt back in.
Most certainly "someone" did access my account from a device set to Italian. That will be me as I wrote. I did.
This morning the digest arrived again in English. I didn't do anything at all but used todoist in the browser.
I understand that we (multi-lingual users) are a minority so asking for a language setting inside every application is too much. But I really can't find a justification for changing the email language just because I've accessed the data from a device setup in a different locale.
And as far as searching for "language" on your support discussions goes I am not the only frustrated by the attempts of todoist to decide what kind of date format or translation I'd like to use.
Sorry if it reads as rant, it is not intended to be. As someone living in four languages, I am really tired of fighting the stupid assumptions about my preferences.
We're very sorry for the inconvenience. If you prefer to always use English, then you can set all your devices to English and Todoist as well as any other app that uses the system's language will also assume you prefer the English version based on your choices.
Our goal is always to make the app as easy to use as possible and there's great demand for localized versions of our app. Therefore - if the user chooses a certain language on the device, so will Todoist so again - please set all your devices to English as you prefer and if you will still receive localized emails, let us know.
