Complex Recurring Task

TA

Good Day,

I am wondering if it is possible to code a really complex recurring task in Todoist.

Basically I have some bills which are due (for example's sake) on the 5th of the month. Now if the 5th of the month is a Sunday, that would mean I would need to ensure that my check is cleared on the 3rd (the last working day before the 5th being a Friday). For my check to be cleared on the 3rd, would mean that I would need to deposit the check on the 1st (it takes 2 working days to clear a check in our Country). For me to be able to deposit the check, I would need to address some accounting elements on Sunday prior to the deposit date ( I usually process my personal accounts / bills / etc) during Weekends. Thus is it possible to make a recurring statement similar to:

Every sunday just prior to 3 working days before the 5th of every month.

ANy help would be appreciated

Hello Taufiq,

Unfortunately, this particular query will not be possible, however you could create something similar combining due dates and reminders.

That said, the task itself could have a due date set to "every 5" which will schedule it to every 5th day of each month and then you can add a reminder (email, SMS or push notification) to "every 1 at 2pm" or also "ev 3 @ 13:00". You can have multiple reminders added to one task, but setting one to "ev 1" could be enough to notify you about taking an action reg this task.

Alternatively, you could set a separate "clear check" task set to ev 1 and still have reminders for both tasks just in case.

Best regards,
David
