Control + left and right arrow keys not working in textboxes

MQ

As subject. When entering or editing a new task doing the control and a left/right arrow key the cursor does not skip between words; not having it is very annoying; hope you can add it!

Hello Mitchell,

This is caused by the fact that we use this shortcut to indent/unindent a task or project to create a sub-task or sub-project.

We may consider finding a different combination for indenting tasks in the future, but for now, please try to use "Home" and "End" to jump to the beginning or the end of a task's name and if you need to add a long text into a task, we recommend to use task notes where these shortcuts will work.

Best regards,
David

You know, I was about to say that the un/indent stuff didn't work while you were editing text, but it does, I'd just not noticed! Shift + Control + arrows selects ok ... I've no other ideas, cuz the indenting is quite a nice feature. Thanks for the quick reply!

@ David,

Yes, in the long run, it will reduce a lot of confusion if a different keyboard shortcuts are assigned to indentation/deindentation.

Even now, you can use ctrl + arrow to skip through words when you are looking at search results, as opposed to inside a project. In some sense, it's better to have the function in some circumstances than not to have this function at all. But in other sense, it "trains" the user the wrong way, because the user is lead to believe that ctrl + arrow will skip through words, which is only true in certain contexts.

What about control and the square bracket keys?
