How can I open an e-mail task?

I am not sure if I toggled something so that e-mail tasks cannot be opened from Todoist. It seems that I had that ability this morning, but lost it as I woked throughout the day.

Hi Harlyn,

Are you using our Gmail Plugin, Chrome/Firefox, or Outlook? Are you moving these emails after adding the task? And to clarify, the link to the email just does not do anything when clicked?

Are you using more than one email account?

I am using Outlook.
I right click on the e-mail. Then click on add to Todoist. From there I add detail within Todoist.
Later, when I come back to that item and click on it it would open up the e-mail. Yesterday afternoon, I must have toggled something off as it would nolonger open the e-mail.

Hello Harley,

Please clarify - did you move the emails after you've added them to Todoist to a different folder within Outlook? If so, that's unfortunately an issue with our current plugin - it won't be able to track moved messages. We're working on fixing it right now.

I right click on the e-mail within Outlook. I choose Todoist. From there the task goes to Todoist.
Once in Todoist I add details regarding the task to the entry created from above.
Later, when I come back to Todoist for the day's tasks. I click on the e-mail/icon entry to open and it does not. I must then go back through my e-mails to retrieve for additional details.

In other words, no, I did not move them after added to
Todoist.

What is strange is that I was able to do this up until yesterday.

Harlyn,

The only report of issues such as these are caused by moving/archiving emails, which will be fixed in an upcoming release. Please tell me, which version of Outlook are you using, which version of our plugin is installed?

I am using Outlook 7.
I have the free version of Todoist.

Harlyn,

I am not sure what version 7 would be, are you referring to Outlook 2007? Also, I was referring to the actual version number of the Outlook plugin, did you download it from the website or find a link on these forums?

An update will be coming soon that I believe will solve this issue as well.

I figured it out!
If I choose an e-mail from Outlook 2007 and send it to Todoist and create a task I can click on the task and it will open the e-mail. However, If I add a label, I am no longer able to access the e-mail from Todoist.

Thank you for clarifying, we're looking into this issue right now. As a workaround, please make sure that if you add a label to a task or edit a task with a label, the label should be at the end of it, not at the beginning - this triggers the issue.

I have the Premium version and I have not moved the email and I have placed the label at the end of the task but todoist moves it to the front after saved. I cannot open it either?

Please tell me, do you see an error message saying "TypeError: Unable to get property..."? If so, we're working on a fix for this right now. Sorry for the inconvenience.
