Outlook: Adding sent e-mails as delegated tasks

CA

Hi all,

is there already a way how I can directly mark an e-mail I am going to send to add to todoist in order to track tasks I delegate?

I think of adding the todoist button to the new e-mail form in the navigation bar. After I marked the e-mail I go to Outlook Todoist and set the due date. Then the task is saved and linked with the e-mail.

If it does not exist, would that be a feature we should add to the votebox?

Thank you for your answer!

Christoph

Christoph,

You can add labels to your tasks (even through emailing tasks, or email plugins) such as @waiting or anything else to accomplish as you'd like.

Thanks,
Brendon.

Dear Brendon,

Thank you for your answer. I already use the labels to asign people.
However, that is not my issue.

This is just in regards to the outlook plugin.

An example what I do at the moment:
I write a new e-mail to one of my team members and asign a task to them which I describe in the e-mail. After I sent the e-mail, I have to go to the sent e-mail folder and add the e-mail via the "add to todoist" button to todoist. Then I use the labels and set the due date.

What I would prefer is:
I write the new e-mail with the task. Before I send the e-mail I can push the add todoist button in the e-mail form. I just click send and then I go to the todoist plugin and add the labels as well as the due date. --> This way I save the step in where I always need to go to the sent e-mail folder.

The perfect way would be:
I write the new e-mail with the task. Before I send the e-mail I can click on add todoist. A new window appears and then I can add the labels and due date directly. I click on save and then I send the e-mail.

I hope I was able to explain what I want to accomplish.

Thanks for your answer,
Christoph

Christoph,

Then at the moment it's not possible. Our outlook plugin has the issue when you move the email, and requires it to be an email already.

You can of course add the label and at least a reminder within the email name @label within the Subject, and <remind today at 2pm> for example as well, and attach your Projects email address (right click project, Email Tasks To This Project) at the same time.

We will look into improving these options in the future.

Thanks,
Brendon.

I'd like to chime in and give my 2 cents/$5 worth vote on this. This is the last missing link - tasks that get sent out by outlook and forgotten forever by the recipient. If I remember later, I can go back and chase them down, we need an easier way! maybe someway to sync outlook tasks w/ todoist tasks and do as the user above suggests (click on assignee before sending)?
