Reminder Question...

AH

Hi, I would like to add early reminders for events. So, for instance, I would like to have a reminder 2 weeks before a quarterly service is due. When I click on the task and select reminders, I get three possible fields:
1. the notification method, eg. "via email,", "via mobile sms", etc.
2. a field (that for me is always greyed out) and says "Remind me on a specific time" and then
3. "Date and Time" for the reminder

How do I enter: "Remind me two weeks before the due date" ?

As an example I have a task that is due "every 3 months starting on 3 Dec" - but I have many more and they all come up the same when I try to add a reminder.

never mind... just figured it out... the due date also needs a due time for the field to become available...

is there maybe a chance to change this, so with tasks that are due on a particular date without a specific time, we just get the option of having a reminder - say - at 9am a week or two earlier?

Hi Andy,

We will consider figuring out a way to do this in the future but right now it's not possible. The time is needed to have a relative reminder, as it's based on that time.

Thanks,
Brendon.

Thank you :-) And now (since I've started playing with reminders) I found a small bug...

If I add a due date as : "ev 22 Aug 2014 @ 9am" it shows up correctly as that.

However if I add "ev 3 months starting on 22 Aug 2014 @9am") the line shows the time to be "11:59pm". If I hover over the date and time, the hover text in the box shows the correct time (9am)...

sorry... just finding my way :-)

Andy,

That is due to how you wrote the syntax. When you are talking about those types, the time needs to come before the date. If you enter "ev 3 months at 9am starting 22 aug" it will work without issue.

Thanks,
Brendon.

Awesome! Thank you. :-) I've tried several other to do list apps, but this is the reason why I keep sticking with ToDoIst. Awesome app, and awesome support. Thank you.
