How do I open Todoist in Gmail?

D

If I close [x] out of todoist within Gmail how do I open it back up again? Can't seem to find any other way than opening an email and clicking the "add" todoist button. I don't want to do that every time. Thanks guys!

Hi Dustin,

Clicking on the Add button is the only way to re-open it at this time. Please note that you can minimize it instead of closing it.

Thanks,
Brendon.

If I may suggest the close button should be removed or moved somewhere else as I keep closing it while I want to minimize. It might sound stupid but its not when you are adding tasks at 100 miles per hour :)

The only way I found to work quickly is to refresh the browser for the plugin to re appear.

And when I do use "Add" hack, the todoist window is showing up in la-la-land, halfway off the right edge of the Gmail browser window.

Hello Jake,

In Chrome, please go to the Advanced Settings -> Content Settings -> All cookies and site data and remove any Todoist-related entry there, then reload the browser. In case of Firefox, go to Options -> Advanced -> Network and clear the cache and remove Todoist.com from the list at the bottom.

After that, the Quick Add box will no longer be displayed incorrectly.

Best regards,
David

Thanks. It actually recovered the correct position just by reloading the Gmail tab, without clearing the cookies/site data.

Another user with the same frustration. Sometimes I want it open, sometimes I want it closed (not minimized). If you're going to let me close it then you might let me open it just as easily.

Can we get a "Todoist" button in the sidebar somewhere?

Completely agree. There needs to be a shortcut or something to relaunch once closed.

Or, here's a thought - if you're not going to let us re-open it, then don't let us close it. Take off the "X" in the corner, and save me some accidental clicks. Just minimize.

+1.

There's seems no logic behind having an [x]

I vote for having this resolved as well. I took me a few minutes to figure out why Todoist kept disappearing. I was instictively clicking the X to dismiss the popup, not understanding that I would need to reload the page to get it back again.

Voting for a simple way to "add to todoist" from an open email - like maybe a menu item alongside the "add task" menu item?

Just to add to the complexity: I use Streak CRM which is a gmail plugin. Maybe it's that, or something else, but when I open an email in gmail it doesn't show the todoist "add" button. It only shows up if I open the email in a separate window using the "open in separate window" button...
