Can't edit using Gmail Plugin

EN

I'm using the Gmail plugin with Chrome. The plugin installs ok and I see the bar at the bottom right of the screen. I can view my tasks, create a task from email and do pretty much anything with the mouse. But I can't type in either the description or date fields so I can't create a new task or edit one created from email. I can type using the Chrome extension, the Windows app. and on the website. But it doesn't work in the Gmail plugin.

Hi Ed,

Can I ask which browser are you using, Firefox or Chrome and which version of it? I am not able to reproduce this issue, I can type in all fields within the new Gmail Plugin.

Thanks,
Brendon.

I'm using Chrome Version 30.0.1599.101 m.

I also use Firefox, installed the plugin there and it seems to be working fine in Firefox.

This is an older computer ... I'm using Windows XP. I'll try it at home tonight on a Windows 7 machine and let you know if it works there.

Initially it didn't work on my Windows 7 computer either. But I have lots of extensions, so I disabled them all except Todoist Gmail Plugin and it worked!

A little troubleshooting indicated the problem was the Google Input Tools. But after re-enabling the Input Tool extension and selecting one of my installed keyboards everything seems to be working.

Strange behavior... but at least now it works!

Thanks,

Ed,

Thanks for that information, knowing an extension can cause issues can help us solve it, or at least explain it to our users.

Please clarify, it was indeed Google Input Tools that caused the issue, and this needs to stay disabled for it to work?

Thanks,
Brendon.

It certainly looks like it was Google Input Tools that caused the issue.

With all other extensions disabled, Todoist Gmail Plugin worked fine. I started re-enabling extensions and once Google Input Tools was re-enabled I was unable to type.

HOWEVER ...

I opened the Google Input Tools options screen and selected one of the keyboards. Then, without disabling or re-enabling any extensions it all seemed to work fine.

Sorry I can't be more precise. But it seems that if Google Input Tools is enabled before installing the Todoist Gmail Plugin it might be necessary to disable/re-enable/select a keyboard in the Input Tools extension to eliminate a conflict.

At least, that what worked for me.

Thanks,
