Seven day view

Hello

When I click next 7 days the screen show the previous two days incomplete tasks and then in grey/blue - today, tomorrow, Tuesday and so on. How these show no activities booked in even though there are items on those days? Have I minimised the menu view or something?

I've also noticed the syncs are not adding up? My iphone showed three tasks, I refreshed and Thursdays task vanished from the view but is still in its project folder? So the app is not working correctly across all my platforms. If task are not displaying correctly then todoist is actually pointless as it does not do the job, of mapping out your week in a view.

All the data is on my desktop fine but just not syncing with any of my devices..have uninstalled the apps and reinstalled still not syncing the correct data.

So if I change data on my desktop app it syncs and changes on my ipad and iphone - this works fine. However it does not show up in the previously mentioned 7 day view? Very frustrating

Hi Chris,

Can you send a screenshot of the 7 Days view to brendon@doist.io and david@doist.io so that we can confirm any issues you are having.

Do all these tasks have due dates? If they do not, they will not show up on those days even if you know those tasks are due that day.

Hello Chris,

Please make sure that all your devices are set to the correct time zone and also, due to the recent time change, Todoist may ask you if you want to adjust your time zone - please agree, then log out and back in on other platforms for the changes to sync and see if it helps.

I have the same issues. Tasks added on the windows app with a due date are showing up on the 7 day view on the desktop app but not on my iphone/ipad apps. It has just started happening in the last few days (last iOS update perhaps?). I haven't been asked to change my timezone on any device either

I am having exactly the same problem. The 7 day view only shows overdue tasks on iOS 7.0.3. Timezones are fine and this was happening before the clocks changed this weekend. This makes the app useless. Please can we have a fix?

No problem Chris. One other thing I noticed today is that the Android app is showing the same, correct, info as the desktop version. It is just the iOS apps that are not showing the correct info

Hello,

Unfortunately, I still can't reproduce this issue. I've just checked the 7 days view on an iOS 7.0.3 device and everything is displayed as it should incl. newly added tasks.

Please try to delete the app, reboot your device, reinstall it and add one new task due "tomorrow" through the iOS app and see if it appears on the 7 days view.

Thanks David. What is actually happening is that no new items are appearing on the list. The only items were a couple of overdue ones which I have now deleted and the 7 days list is blank. Have deleted app, hard reboot and reinstalled and no joy. iPad is fine as is web etc.

I still can't reproduce it :( I've added a new task now using the iOS app while being in the 7 days view, I've set it to "tue", added it and it shows up under "tomorrow".

Please describe step-by-step how are you adding the task - from what view, what's its exact due date or other properties?

Hi David

I always add tasks via the web. I have just tried adding one via the app and it works fine. So it looks like there is a sync issue perhaps. However, the tasks that I have added with due dates via the web are on the app and do have dates but you have to find them via projects. The due today tasks don’t work in exactly the same way.

Ive installed - reinstalled - intalled again and again…changed time zones on all devices refreshed etc etc etc…NOT A SAUSAGE…if you set a task for tomorrow it is visible in tomorrow field until you re-fresh then vanishes to its folder and does not show in week view…

Add a new task with the windows app. Give it a due date of tomorrow.
I have deleted and re-installed my iphone app (latest version under ios 7.0.3) . The new task does not show up under the 7 day view but under the "no due date" section.

To be honest I'm bored now…Ive spent most of yesterday and all of today trying to sort this…If a product has issues with platforms and coding, don't charge for it!! if the clocks changing an hour or a time zone being slightly wrong effects the whole system so much then it makes the product flawed!

WOW where would we all be if our smart phones and Computers/tablets all stopped working and syncing cos of a time zone issue or an update? My phone and computer can automatically changes its time…so surely an integral part of a "time management" app would have this very simple bit of knowledge built into it…no? Just give the app the annual dates built into global time changes..and when you log on to your account the first time it syncs this time with all other devices that you then log in from…?

We're very sorry for the inconvenience, but we simply can't reproduce this issue. No matter how I add a task - web, Windows app or other plugin, if it has a date within the next 7 days, it shows up on the iOS app after syncing and stays there. I can't recreate any situation in which it would disappear.

We would greatly appreciate if you could tell us:
- What exact due date are you using with the task?
- What's the version number of the iOS app you're using?
- In what view are you when you add this task?

Of course if you're no longer wish to use Todoist Premium, we can refund your payment if you send us your order reference ID, but we would really appreciate if you could answer these three questions so we can identify and fix this issue ASAP.

Hi Chris and all,
Just paid for the premium today only to find exactly the same problem. No due dates on the iPad. When I change them on the iPad then as soon as the system syncs then they disappear from the due dates. Not good, and I will also be asking for a refund. Just my luck to pay for the premium the day after the clocks change!

Oh and the outlook add in is stuck in the supports section as there is no way to get back from there. Has been for about 2 weeks. I don't think this has been resolved, but thought I should raise it again.

David, can I contact you about a refund please?

I wish we could upload images to this chat forum so we can all understand what is happening…Even better a video then I can film my screen doing what its doing…to make sure its working correctly..

So on my desktop I am doing this -

Press the plus sign on the top right of the screen -
Select folder - Inbox for example -
Add the name or task in - "test for test" - add due date "29 Oct"
Click save

now instantly this shows up in my inbox on my macbook/iphone/ipad

But not in my week view at all - its like each day has collapsed and is just showing a greyed out week day, with no info in it…

If I add the same info on my iPhone or iPad, in the same way..it appears in the week view for a few seconds…then once it syncs, vanishes and is no longer in the week view…however can be found in the appropriate folder you added it to.

VERSION - I am using which ever version i just downloaded about three minutes ago from the app store? so I would presume the newest version?

VIEW - Don't quite understand what you mean by which view am I in?

We've very sorry for the inconvenience, our app never has such issues and if a bug or glitch is being discovered, we always try to fix it ASAP and we (incl. our developers) looking into this right now, but if you don't wish to wait for the fix, please send us the order reference ID of your payment to receive a refund.

Thank you for this information, I've followed these steps exactly and the task is the under "Tomorrow" on the 7 days view on the iOS app. Still, our developers are looking into it right now and we hope we can fix it today.

As for the view - I was referring to whether you're within a project as you add the task or on a search result page, but it seems not relevant. As for the version - technically, Apple's iCloud could download and install an older version for you and offer an update later, but it happens rarely.

Still, if you go to the Settings -> About in the app, you could see:

Version 7.0.3 (11127)

I was adding tasks in the main page view…if that makes sense..so the first view I would see once logging on…Ill give you the benefit of the doubt, as I understand these things slip through the system..but If I cannot get it working in the next couple of days then yes I will send you my ID etc…

This really is a nice looking app that is lovely to navigate through and build up….so its a shame this has happened.

Just a thought, but I'm based in the UK. Pretty sure Chris is too. The clocks changed here yesterday. I know Chris mentioned this but it may be worth repeating, as you may not have the problem in the US?

I'm in Europe and the time changed for me yesterday too. I suspect it's not a time related issue after all otherwise you would see your tasks on the 7 days view, but in worst case - delayed by a day or under the incorrect date with incorrect time, but they wouldn't completely disappear.

Again, we're looking into it now, we hope to identify this issue very soon and if it's a front-end issue, push an urgent update to the Apple Store.

Before you are quick to change apps, keep in mind something: an app, much like an Apple computer, is not just the app - it is the "spectrum" of the experience you have with the app.

There are things I would love to see a bit different on Todoist, but the one thing that keeps me pinned for the moment is the constant and quick stream of actual care to customer issues ON TOP OF active development.

Before you switch, take a look at the once "leaders" that either fell or are falling by the wayside because of (1) arrogance and complacency and (2) disregard, and sometimes outright contempt for customers.

I am a newer convert so perhaps I am a bit noobish and green, but I have found the service here stellar and on par with the best out there, which usually requires a global corporation of resources behind it.

AND they are actively fixing and developing on top of that while responding to all these issues.

I can name a few top competitors whose behavior towards customers ranges from complete cold shoulder to active disdain.

And they haven't made basic fixes to flaws found in YEARS, let alone made drastic useful improvements.

Yes, the app is not perfect but to juggle all these platforms and the technical limitations there-in and to make improvements while keeping up with an onslaught of change in OS systems AND to courteously and patiently deal with EACH AND EVERY customer issue brought up on the forums in a timely manner ... it's almost superhuman.

Oh, and another thing to keep in mind - sync is HARD. Instant sync is hard. Trust me when I say this no matter what the perceived flaws, the competition has I think 1 option for good sync, the way you expect.

Before you jump ship I would check out the forums of who you jump ship to and look for discussions on missing data, missing lists, missing entries, entire accounts accidentally deleted, etc.

You will be shocked, and perhaps have a greater appreciation of Todoist.

I'm going to stay right here for now, because no matter the problem, this is the ONLY team I have found that actually responds to customers bringing up issues AT ALL, let alone in a timely, constant AND courteous manner.

Oh, and in case you don't believe me, try posting a problem to another competitor's forums, if they even have it. You'd be surprised how many of the more serious issues never even show up on the forums.

Because they are edited.

Todoist forums seems to be live, un-edited. Guts. Honesty. I can deal with just about any problem as long as the team behind the platform is honest and genuinely cares about resolving them.

Thats nice…i appreciate the above.
But the simple thing is…I've paid so I want it working…Customer service is a good thing…and I have a policy of 30 minutes to every enquiry..I do however need a product that is reliable and can work in and out of the office…otherwise Ill just sync my pen and paper…lol

Yes, we've just fixed it on the back-end now, it may require resyncing the data or in some cases logging out and back in, though.

Chris,

It was indeed an issue related to the time change - it caused certain data not to be appended so even though it was synced correctly (and the data was there within projects), the time was different than what the app would expect.
