No reminder push

Hi there,

I just purchased the Premium Todoist and i'm having some problems with the reminders.

Default is the 30min before task reminder.
I just set up push notification, 0 min before task, or even an absolute time before, but no Push notification shows on my phone.

I tried test Push from options, that one works.
I logged off and on again, still nothing.
I uninstalled the app and installed it again, still nothing.

Is there anything i forgot about ? I reaally need that push option for the tasks.

Thanks

Hi Cosmin,

If you have indeed received a test push, then the settings appear to be correct. Can you tell me exactly what you have entered for your date for the task? And when creating the 0 min before reminder, did you select this from the menu, or typed it out?

If you head to Todoist.com, Settings, Reminders, is your Default reminder set to Push?

Thanks,
Brendon.

Hi,

Mobile push notification is set in settings yes.
And when creating a task, i set a reminder and choose from the list 0 min before task.

I also tried tipping in a time, as absolute time, didn't work either.

Thanks,
Cosmin

Hello Cosmin,

Please try to set a reminder within a task by typing <remind today at 23:30> within the task's name. Make sure it's set at least 1-2 minutes into the future and that all time zone settings on your devices as well as in Todoist are correct (if Todoist ased you to adjust the zone after DST ended, you should have agreed).

Best regards,
David

Hello,

I tied putting a reminder inside the task name, it worked to get set, but the Push didn't come at that time.

Well, i don't know if this is supposed to happen, but if i go to the mobile app in my phone and click Premium details, it shows me the price and buy options.

I'm already a Premium member, should it do that?

I installed again the app after i became premium.

The only place i can set the Hour options is from the website settings, it's put on GMT+ 02:00 (Bucharest)

Have a nice day,
Cosmin

Hello Cosmin,

We're looking into the reminder issue right now, sorry for the inconvenience.

As for the Premium page - it will always be there in case you'd like to pay for another year in advance so this shouldn't be an issue.

Best regards,
David

Hi David,

Thanks for the quick answer. I understood the explanations and i'm waiting for your reply when the issue is cleared.

If is something i forgot, i apologize in advance for the trouble, but I tried it all in my opinion.

Have a great day,

Yes, it works now, thanks so much! That was quick.

One fast question. Default, the push reminder kicks 30 min before task. Is there a way to set it to start 0 min before task by default?

Have a nice day,
Cosmin

1. reminders do not work , do not play a sound .
I create a task with a date and time. there is a push notification but without sound. The sound of the phone is turned on. There is a sound of an incoming sms . All other programs are sending sound. todoist silent.
2 . The second problem , I sent for testing push notification . And it worked on the phone only in 2 hours. Two months ago, a push notification came at once. wifi is up and running . With the verification message came from and those who have not worked
I began to miss the important task. It hurts me .

Hello Andrey,

Please confirm - did you choose a sound for our push notifications within our app's Settings -> Notifications?

As for the second issue, please clarify - you're referring to the "Send a test" option which worked only for a short time and doesn't work now? And now it also affects any other push notifications? When exactly did this issue started to occur and are you in a corporate WiFi network?

Hello David Trey,

- Yes of course. Sound set.

As for the second issue, please clarify - you're referring to the "Send a test" option which worked only for a short time and doesn't work now?
- Yes "Send a test". "Send a test" works, but reports are coming in two hours rather than immediately

And now it also affects any other push notifications?
-"Send a test" are coming in two hours and after it worked Notifications that were triggered during the two hours

When exactly did this issue started to occur and are you in a corporate WiFi network?
- corporate WiFi network and home. Works the same everywhere

I think I understand the problem. The fact that I bought your program for a month and everything worked. After the month is over, I bought another month. Function Notifications works for premium account. And I think Notifications disconnected and then joined. Today I bought the account for a year. Stung by a cache on your phone. And everything seems to work. But I'm not sure that everything is working properly.

Audrey,

To clarify, are notifications working now? If you head to Todoist.com, top right corner, Todoist Premium. If this page lists when your Premium status expires, then you are indeed Premium, and everything should be working properly.

Thanks,
Brendon.

Hello Brendon.

I now have a premium membership for a year, bought yesterday. Before that I was paying every month. I have a suspicion - the transition from one month to another function "push notifications" off, but then do not turn on.

Hello Andrey,

Please clarify - right now you have a Todoist Premium account and push notifications don't work for you at all?

If so, please tell me - do you happen to have and app called "Go Power Master" or anything else that may manage your battery? Another user just reported that with this app notifications didn't arrive for him because this app will completely turn off internet connectivity on your phone each time you put it to sleep or the display goes blank.

Best regards,
David

Hello-

My push notifications are also not working. I got the test, but nothing else. I first set the reminder from my mobile for today at 11:30am, and then again for 12:00pm. I didn't get either one. I tried doing it from my computer for 12:05pm, and I didn't get that one either.

Hi Lauren,

Can you confirm if you have cleared the data for our app (Android) or have logged out and in again (iOS) and this still continues?

Also, as David as asked, do you use Go Power Master or any similar power saving apps?

Thanks,
Brendon.

Hi Brendon-

Yes, I've cleared the data and logged back in. I don't have any power saving apps. I'm still not getting the notifications.

Lauren,

Considering that we've been experiencing some time-zone issues related to the end of the Daylight Saving Time, could you please try to test this with a reminder that's set at last one full hour into the future and another one that's 25 hours into the future?

If you've received the test message, it confirms that the reminder service itself is working for you, so we suspect that it may be an issue related to the reminder being set to an incorrect time on our end.

Best regards,
David

Reminders doesn´t work for me either.
I had this problem already a couple of times.
The Mobile push test reminder works but a reminder set in a task does´t work.
Also if I change the reminder to email they don´t work for me now.
It looks like that this is a ongoing problem which will be fixed and it comes again.

Hello Uwe,

Please tell me - do you have the correct time zones set in Todoist and all deices you're using Todoist on? The fact that the test notification arrives proves that this service is working on your device. A push reminder is sent the exact same way as a test so the only reason why it wouldn't arrive would be a time or time zone related issue.

Please try to set two test reminders:
- one with a due time more than 1 hour into the future
- one with a due time more than 25 hours into the future
and let us know if you'll receive either of them.

Best regards,
David

Hello David.

Thanks for the quick answer.
I set the two reminders you mentioned.
The one I set appr. 1.5 hours into the future did work already. The one more than 25 hours has still to come obviously.

The only concern I have is that I had this situation in the past weeks a couple of times already. The reminders stopp working and all of a sudden they are working again.
I used Things in the past and the only thing which I didm´t like was that Things does´t have reminders for a specific time. That is the reason why I want to switch to Todoist, but when reminders are not working reliable it is not good for me.

Uwe,

We're sorry for the inconvenience, there was indeed a reminder issue in Todoist recently and it was caused by the end of the Daylight Saving Time in Europe last weekend. Another change will happen for the US this weekend and we hope that the transition will be smooth. We're looking into it now and we can assure you that usually our reminders are reliable and work fine all the time.

Best regards,
David

Hello Brendon and David! My notifications are now working. Yesterday, I set a notification for more than an hour out, and another for 25 hrs. The hour one never came, and I have yet to reach the 25 hr mark. I tested some more today, and I'm getting them all now. Thanks so much for your help!
