outlook - netframe work 1.1 issue

CC

I am unable to load the Outlook add-on - my computer won't load the net framework 1.1 service pack 1. I am running Windows 7 (32 bit) and all my Microsoft/windows updates have been updated - it appears that I have net framework 4 installed (along with other lower numbers and the service packs). I have tried to install with and without Outlook running. How to I get the add on to load?

Hi Chris,

Which version of Outlook are you running? Information on how to enable an add-on can be found here but varies on version. http://office.microsoft.com/en-ca/outlook-help/enable-or-disable-add-ins-in-office-programs-HA010034127.aspx#BM9

Thanks,
Brendon.

running 2010 Outlook - how would the add on be labeled? I don't' see anything that has "to do" in the name.

Hello Chris,

So to clarify, when you go to Programs & Features, you do not see "OutlookTodoist" listed there? In that case, it seems not to be installed yet. Try to install this version and let us know if the issue persists: https://d2dq6e731uoz0t.cloudfront.net/27d69392edce0cbd2d7128b9c74d070d/as/OutlookTodoist.Adx.exe

As for activation, you can go to Options -> Add-ins, click on "Go" next to "COM Add-ins" and here you'll be able to activate "OutlookTodoist".

Best regards,
David

correct - "Outlook Todoist" is not present - the program tries to load, but as noted in the original post it won't load the .net framework 1.1. service pack 1 (or possibly the VSTO, but that appears to load) -

Chris,

If "OutlookTodoist" is not present in your Control Panel's Add/Remove then there is no way for it to be loaded, as to why it is probably failing.

Please try re-installing the addon from the link above.

Thanks,
Brendon.

I tried the new link as well - same issue - it won't load the net framework 1.1 and then the install fails

Chris,

The Todoist installation should install what it needs to work, so I am unsure why this would fail. Also, having version 4 should result in the same end.

Nonetheless, please try installing/reinstalling 1.1 with this link (http://www.microsoft.com/en-ca/download/details.aspx?id=26) and then try the install file for Todoist.

Thanks,
Brendon.

thank you -that worked and I have the add on - however it doesn't want to accept my account - I type in the user name and password, but it either gives me a "wrong e-mail or password" message or simply blanks the sign in boxes.

Since my outlook is set up for my work account and I originally used my personal e-mail to create my account, I tried setting up an account using my work e-mail, but the app had the same issues.

I closed and restarted outlook after each try, but it still doesn't want to open my account (the account opens on the web just fine)

Chris,

The account/emails that you use with Outlook has no effect on your Todoist account, so you can sign into Todoist with any account.

Do you sign in with Google on the web version, and not on the Outlook plugin? It is required to do so on any platform that you use.

Thanks,
Brendon.
