Is it possible to reuse completed tasks . . .

Is it possible to reuse completed tasks without unchecking them and changing the dates?

For example I have a client that I need to talk to. I set a task to contact him on Monday. I call and leave a message. I also email him. I make a note in the task that I called and emailed. That task is now complete so I check it off.

Next I set a reminder to follow up again next Monday in case I have not heard from my client. Is there a way to copy that old task and make it a new one or can I only create a new task and copy my notes from the completed task?

Thanks,

-Robert

Hello Robert,

Unfortunately, that's not possible. You can use recurring tasks such as "every Monday" and checking it off will push its due date to the next Monday and then you can follow-up on it, but in this case, I would recommend using sub-tasks.

For example, the parent task would be the client's name and below, you can add separate sub-tasks for each action, dated differently:

John Smith
| - Phonecall
| - Follow-up
| - Send email

...and so on. Completing a sub-task would not remove it from the list only make it light gray until you finally complete the parent task.

Best regards,
David

David,

Thanks for the reply. I was hoping there was a feature I overlooked. I thought about the using sub-tasks but I need a way to keep that parent task in front of me and unless I assign it a due date I would just be creating sub tasks as reminders which would not save me any time.

Thanks,

-Robert
