Hello Maria,

There are two ways to manage Gmail messages:

1. Linking to them by using one of our browser plugins - that's a free feature.

2. Sending/forwarding mails to Todoist - that's a Premium feature.

For a detailed description of both option and their advantages, please check out this post on our blog: https://todoist.com/blog/2013/01/zero-inbox-policy-with-todoist/

Best regards,
David

Thank you so much. I was opening the e-mail and then the chrome todoist extension but didn't know about clicking on the + symbol. It works great. You made my day.

Any word on when we can export our gmail task list to todoist tasks?

Maria,

Glad it works for you :) As for exporting Google Tasks - we're considering implementing a way to add these tasks to Todoist once, but a permanent sync will be near-impossible as Google Tasks are missing a lot of Todoist's features so properties of tasks would always be lost when syncing with Google.

Best regards,
David

I have read the posts about syncing and I understand. I bet you will get a lot more google task users to convert if they can export their list to todoist instead of re-entering. I'm motivated to get to a better solution so I will re-enter all my tasks but my list is not all that extensive. For others it might be quite a chore.

Since, the ability to add e-mails to tasks is available that closes the deal for me and I think it would for others too if they could export their tasks to get started on todoist. Just a thought.

I hope you guys do this soon because I am telling my friends and family about the product.
