Tasks sent via email disappear

Hi, I've lately switched from Windows to Mac and there is no longer an Outlook plugin availalbe to me from ToDoIst. So, I'm resorting to email.

However, nothing seems to get through. I've added my 2 work addresses to the project, but when I send the emails they never show up. Any tips?

Hello Mark,

Please make sure you're sending the tasks to the correct email address/project and also - try to add wildcard domains for the addresses you use to send emails through.

To do so, in the "Email tasks to this project" window, instead of typing the full address such as:

user@company.com

try to add only this:

@company.com

and see if it helps.

Also, you'll need to refresh/resync the app/web-app to see the sent email/task.

Best regards,
David

Thanks David, you guys are incredibly fast at responding, please take that as a compliment.

I can confirm emailing tasks is working for me. There is a delay, maybe more than you would expect from just email from one person to another - that was why I didn't think it was working. I don't have a firm grasp on this yet, but it could be as long as an hour or more in my case (I did refresh the page).

It would really help me to be able to set priority in the email - I don't believe this is available.

Apart from the delay, the only issue for me seems to be that some of my email signature (Twitter link) gets picked up in the task, so an email subject of:

FW: Brand Planning

Shows up as a task with this name:

@markhdavis<http://www.twitter.com/markhdavis>

From: FW: Brand Planning

Mark,

Each time I've checked, the sent email was converted to a task within about 5 seconds from sending it. We're unsure why it's so delayed in your case, please try to use Ctrl+F5 to hard-reload the page next time and see if it helps.

As for the signature - unfortunately, this is how it works right now, it will convert the entire body of the email to a task note including the signature. In case of twitter links, they may be converted into labels, but you shouldn't see parts of your signature within the task's name. Please confirm is this:

@markhdavis<http://www.twitter.com/markhdavis>

From: FW: Brand Planning

what you saw as the name of the task? That is - both lines with an empty line between?

Best regards,
David

I'm on Firefox on a mac, but I'll try a hard reload as I do this and check back.

I'm not bothered by the note - it's useful. Yes, those 3 lines are what I'm getting as a task.
