All of the notes disappeared over night. How is it possible to restore them?

Jacek,

Task Notes are a Premium-only feature. Had you previously been a Premium member? If so, your Notes are not gone, only 'not showing'. If you again pay for a Premium membership, they will again be available.

I just started using the app yesterday to check it out. I upgraded my account today to Premium, but still couldn't find any of the notes that have been taken yesterday. Is it possible to restore these notes?

Jacek,

You're not being shown as Premium in the Support Forum. Are you logging into Todoist using the same user credentials (user name & password) under which you you upgraded to Premium?

Hello Jacek,

Please clarify exactly step-by-step how did this issue occur, that is - on what device did you add notes and was the device online, if not, did you try to sync, then on what other device did you try to access these notes (if you've used multiple devices, that is)?

Assuming you're referring to the web-app, please try to clear your browser's cache, and log out and back in. We've had a technical issue last week which made notes hidden for a short time, but it's already been fixed days ago. However, logging out and back in was required for the changes to take affect.

Also, please make sure you're going directly to https://todoist.com and don't use a bookmark with anything else in the URL (like an old version number, for example).

Hi David,

Well, I am using only the web-app. Yesterday, I opened an account and created some projects as well as some notes to them. In the morning, I couldn't find any of those notes so then I upgraded my account to Premium. Since morning I have not seen any notes except of those that I created today. I was using notes only in the web-app and Chrome extension. However, since I noticed the problem I disabled the extension. I cleared my browser's cache and log out but it did not help. I also have been using the direct link https://todoist.com to log in.

Jacek,

You've said you've created some projects and added notes to them. It's not possible to add notes to projects. You can add tasks to projects and then notes to these tasks so please clarify - when you say "notes" are you referring to actual task notes or tasks themselves?

You've said you have upgraded to Premium after you've had these notes which is not possible because task notes are a Premium-only feature unless you've been using a free Premium trial.

Either way, the only way to lose data is if you've used Todoist offline, haven't synced it and then deleted the app or cleared your browser's cache before syncing. It's not possible for any data to be lost otherwise.

The most common report about "data loss" is always caused by logging into a different account. Are you certain that you never use any other email address which you might have created another Todoist account with before? Have you never mixed the manual login with the Google Login option?

Please try to access your account through a browser which you have never used before and confirm if the issue persist and again - if you're referring to tasks or task notes?

Hi David,

When I started using todoist I was definitely using the regular version, and I have no idea how I was able to add the notes in such a case. Anyway, since I started using the Premium version I haven't had any problems and all notes seem to be intact. Having said that, I think the app has been working very well for me. Thanks!
