Selecting a Project with children selects all children

Hi,

Starting recently (today?), when I select a Project that has child-Projects, it selects both the parent Project and all children Projects. This shows all of the tasks for all of the child Projects as well.

Since I have several large Projects with many child-Projects with many tasks, this causes the todoist.com website to load and show all of the sub-projects and all of their tasks. This takes a lot of time, is slow, and not what I care about.

Is there an option to only select the parent project any more?

Thanks,

Hello Nic,

This feature was implemented per request a couple of weeks ago and there's indeed no way to select only the parent project directly, however after you click on it to see the whole project structure, you can click on the project name header on the task list and this will show just this one project.

Best regards,
David

Thanks David. As I mention, I have several parent Projects with many child Projects. In one case, a parent Project has 12 child Projects, and the sum total of tasks over all these 13 Projects is over 500 tasks.

When I click on the parent Project, it takes approximately 4 seconds with the browser locked up and not responding to show these 13 projects (IE 10 on a 6-core i7). This is not a responsive user experience.

I understand that being able to select a parent and all child Project is useful, but I'd like to be able to do this intentionally by, say, holding CTRL when clicking on the parent project and not all of the time.

Nic,

Thank you for clarifying, could you please let me know if this issue persist on any other browser (Firefox, Chrome) so we can confirm if it's a problem only on IE or everywhere?

On Chrome 29 and FF 23, the same task takes about 1-2 seconds of the browser not being responsive with my projects/tasks.

Nic,

We'll look into optimizing the loading times and/or enabling a way to directly open just one parent project.

Best regards,
David
