Doubling of completed tasks

When I mark a certain task as completed it sometimes doubles in the completed list (I see the task twice and it is also shown in the statistics twice). It doesn't happen every time, but quite often. I can't seem to figure out the reason.

Hello Borut,

Unfortunately, we can't reproduce this issue so far. We've had a similar report in the past, but also couldn't find the source of this bug and without knowing how exactly it can be triggered, it's near-impossible to find it in this case. If you'll notice any pattern to when it happens, please let us know.

Best regards,
David

Hello,

I think I figured out when this happens. If I work fast and refresh the page right after I set the task as done (before it refreshes the Kharma score), then it doubles the task in completed tasks. I think this might be it. Let me know if you are able to reproduce this.

Best regards,
Borut

Borut,

Thanks for that bit of information though it does not seem to be the cause. I have done exactly as you have stated and yet it only shows up as one in the completed area.

Thanks,
Brendon.

Hello,

To me it always happens if I do what I described above.
I also have problems with synchronization. It often happens that I see some tasks, I already completed on todoist.com, as still uncompleted on the iPhone app or Outlook plugin.

Thanks for the help,
Borut

Borut,

Unfortunately, we still can't reproduce it. We've tried to complete tasks and refresh instantly, after a fraction of a second, a bit later, but before it syncs, while it syncs, after it syncs and it hasn't duplicated at all. Which browser are you using?

As for the synchronization - technically, if you complete a task on the web and close the browser right away before the information is synced, then indeed you may not see this change on any other platform as every action is being first stored locally (for improved performance) and if you're online, it'll sync after a second. Please confirm if that's the case.

Best regards,
David

Hello,

I'm using Chrome. It happens to me almost all the time, although it is not 100% consistent.

About the synchronization, what you described is not the case. I have my browser opened all day so it has plenty of time to sync. I use my iPhone app only every few days and when I do I sometimes see tasks, that I completed a few days ago on the web app.

Best regards,
Borut

Borut,

I've just tried to repeat these test on Chrome and still - can't trigger a duplicated task even once. Are you using any plugins on Chrome? Especially ad-blockers, script-blockers or anything that may influence scripts or internet connectivity?

Best regards,
David
